So 2 weeks ago I went to the hospital cause I had really bad cramps and I was losing a lot of blood. They gave me an ultrasound and told me that I have overine systs and they referred me to a OBGYN. Well my OBGYN put me on Anitibiotics, pain pills, and birth control. Im only 19 years old.

Yesturday I saw my OBGYN and he told me I have Overine Cancer and there's nothing he can do about it except give me more pain pills and more birth control pills and tell me to take it easy. My dads mom (my grandma) had systs on her overies for along time and all what they did to her was the same thing they are doing to me. They wouldn't do surgery on her. I just don't want to die like my grandma did it was sooooo scary. If there is anyone out there that can give me any type of information or any advice please help me. They put me on perkasets I don't know if I spelled that right but those pills didn't even work Im have really bad adomonal pain. Please help me!! I asked him if I wanted too since its my choice can I have surgery? He said no and told me that I have to go out of my state (AZ) to get the surgery. He told me that Im too young to get my surgery.

My questions are:

1. Why can't I just have the surgery no matter how old I am?
2. Is there any state that will allow me to have the surgery?

You really need to see another doctor... in a completely different practice... and get another opinion. They will request copies of all the testing you have had done already and do some of their own as well. While it is possible, ovarian cancer is quite rare in someone so young and you would want to be sure this is a correct diagnosis.

What procedures have you had done already? How was the diagnosis made? Age would not be a reason for you not being able to have surgery.

It seems strange that a diagnosis of Cancer was made based on ultrasound examination, only (as it appears from your post).

While sonography would definitely be able to show up any cyst, it would not indicate the type and nature of cyst.

For that, other studies would be necessary and you should pay attention to DoulaLC's advice given here, even though, as you have found out, herbs seem to be helping out.

Besides, Ovarian cancer is not basically hereditary.
So it isn't a truism that your cyst would be cancerous because your grandmother's was.

Certain other (non-cancerous) Ovarian cysts can run in families.

I think you should continue with your efforts to get a proper diagnosis made and not stop till that is done!
