Hi everyone,
I am planning upgrade my system i.e. only motherboard, processor and RAM.
I am in a dilema that which one to opt. AMD or Intel. I am looking for decent, cost effective upgradation.
These are my choice.. Please give me suggestion on these.
1. Processor - AMD 5200+
Motherboard - Asus (Dont know which series to buy) or MSI Nvidia
RAM - 2GB (Trnascend)

This is my second choice...
Processor - Intel dual core 2.5
Motherboard - Intel Original (Dont know which series to buy)
RAM - 2GB (Transcend)

Friends please help me out which configuration is better and also if possible please give me the reason why its better.
Any other Configuration is always welcome :)
Thank you...

It is assumed you are putting new hardware into an existing box. There are other things to consider:
Will the existing power supply support the new hardware?
Are the other components (hard disk, keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.) compatible with the motherboard?
Older software is usually compatible with new hardware but you might run into a surprise.

You did not mention the cost involved but did ask about cost effectivity. These days it is easier to buy a new PC cheaper than attempting to upgrade an existing box. New PC's can be obtained direct from the vendor for about $300 without a monitor but also include the latest operating system but have the option of requesting an earlier operating system.

I have Intel motherboard and I found among the motherboards I always prefer for Intel and you can upgrade the CPU higher and RAM is quite enough.
