I have a supplemental tax sheltered annuity separate from my job. I need to clse this out to pay off a bill or have my wages garnished. I can't take out a loan from the account, and have rotten credit so getting a loan from a lender is impossible. Is there a way?

Talk to the rep at the institution you bought this annuity from - they should be able to tell you how to close out your account. There may be a penalty involved, which is imposed by the financial institution if you have held your account less than a certain amount of time (typically 7 years).

One thing to be aware of - if you sell your acount at a loss, you do not get to deduct the loss from your taxes.
