Hey guys,

We've got a small 9x5 bathroom that we are going to put down Trafficmaster's Alure vinyl flooring. It is a floating floor that comes in roughly 1x3 panels. These attach to each-other at the edged with adhesive strips, forming one large, floating surface.

My question is: We are putting in a permanent, preconstructed, vanity. Should I run the flooring under the vanity or cut it to fit around it?

Thanks!

It'll be easier to do the flooring first.

If you don't want to put flooring under the entire vanity, then you'll have to add something to make sure the floor height is the same in the areas that support the vanity.

Personally, I would not put it under the cabinet. It's meant to float and you'll likely want to replace it before you really want to pull a cabinet again. Trim it to fit - cover your cabinet face edging with new vinyl base. Use a matching caulk along the side edge for any small gap or consider extending your baseboard along the cabinet side for a more finished look.
