Are there audio outputs on the DirectTV DVR?

There are 2 sets of outputs labeled 1 and 2 there is also an s video cable. The receiver by the way is a yamaha not a kenwood. There is also a component video out w/ (3) output the first one being green w/ a (Y) beside then blue w/ a (ph) then red w/ a (pr)

What you're looking for is a pair of RCQ connectors of the type shown here (the picture shows a red, white, and yellow plugs. Several jacks are shown in a lower picture):
RCA connector - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCA_connector)
One of the connectors will be color-coded in red (right channel) and the other will be color-coded in white (left channel). You need a cable with two connectors and RCA jacks on either end.
You'll then look for a matching pair (also red and white) on the Yamaha receiver (who said anything about a Kenwood?). You're probably looking for the "Auxiliary Input" on the Keywood, though you can use "Tape In" also. Connect the left channels (white) and right channels (red) with the RCA audio cable. They sell these cables all over -- Lowe's, Home Depot, Radio Shack and other.
Once it's connected, you should be able to select the Auxiliary Channel on the Yamaha and hear sound.
