I have a delta shower valve that I am trying to replace - I've removed everything and am down to the valve, but can't figure out how to remove it (it is recessed which makes things more difficult). Any suggestions?

If you plan to remove the entire valve it is unlikely that you can do it without making the hole in the wall larger. Is it an option to rebuild this valve or what is the reason for wanting to remove it?

Hi all:

Ballengerb1 raises a good question lilyow... valves can be rebuilt most of the time.

If rebuilding is a not an option... you can remove the valve by:

1) enlarging the hole in front and then use a remodeler's plate (see picture) to cover up the hole...

2) cut an access panel from behind and cut the old valve out from there... be careful NOT to burn the front if you end up soldering in a new valve from behind the tub wall... ;) I have seen it happen.

Let us know if you need more information.
