I own and have run a Dance school for 19 years in NY. I was a professional Dancer with NYCBallet. I have to leave my present location and am having a terrible time finding space large enough and affordable. I was thinking that I might be able to get a grant to purchase a building. I am a white male so ethnic grants and women's grants don't help.
Does anyone know of any grants that might fit this need?

Hello Hard:

Unless you intend to offer dance lessons to the disadvantaged for free or greatly reduced prices, you're not going to find a grant.

There ARE people out there who WILL invest into a money making enterprise. That's where I'd be concentrating.

Your best bet is to find an "angel" investor (that's what they're called). These are successful people who KNOW you and your talents, and are willing to take the risk.

It's going to take a business plan in any case.
