I don't know if you still remember me and my terrible results from using monobenzone. It happened last year when my hands were terribly messed up after a few weeks of mono using. I had to see couple of dermatologist and nothing helped at all.

I went back to my country and saw a dermatologist there, she prescribed me a cream " compound mix" and I have used it for a few months. Got to tell you girls I almost gave up on that cream too because I could hardly see improvement. Thanks god my hands now are totally back to normal and no more dark rough skin or any leathery layers!

NOW... I have been reading that some people had success with Hq 20%... my skin is very light, but suffering brown spots and dark elbows... I only need to use it to lighten up these problem areas. I also have a dark brown line around my lips " looks like it has been drawn with thin lip liner" I hate it and want to get rid of it...

I wish if you guys can be honest and share your experiences.

Spotted, I got dark black line around my mouth too and spots from mono. Using mono was the WORST decision in my life!

Oh my I saw that 2!! That happened on herbalinn.com they would delet ethings they didn't like. I didn't understand but afte a while it all came to light... oh well u know how to catch me. I would never post photos here for that reason also. Privately only

There are a lot of lip lightening creams out there that you can try. A lot of people on this site had success with godiva lipbalm or fresh up cream. I'm using this lip mask called crystal collagen. It hasn't been doing much though because I only used it twice. I lightened the dark border around my lips using lemon, but the rest of my lips are still dark, but you can still try it just use a little lemon juice and wear lip balm or vaseline over it.

I would love to know what the doctor precribed and how long it took for your result I think I have that same problem , I think from using bleaching ,cream gels anf retina . My hand look awful I am embarrassed to go out because of it.

I use mono 40% cream for a year and I did not have bad experience with the cream maybe because I was mixing it with almond *** and Re**** and I have vitiligo but my natural skin color is almost the same white as my vitiligo, my skin is very fair and sensitive... so I'm not sure about buying it so pure, I need help!

XoXo, I have tried the fresh up cream and it didn't do much beside making my light parts of my lips more pinkish and didn't help in lightning the dark lines :(

Okay! So if I used high percentage of Hq... my skin will react and It will get DARKER afterward?? Have you actually got that reaction when you used it?

I am a pharmacy student and I don't have a definite answer for this because everybody reacts differently and it is way too early for me to figure that out! But based on what I have studied so far HQ is prescribed for people with Melasma, and such skin conditions to get rid of the accumulated Melanocytes and it has to be started from smaller doses going up. And if you got the desired results you will need to stop using it gradually so your skin maintain the achieved results for long time. I guess that how it works!!

Mpk I got darker like the first week then I began to peel like 2 weeks into it, like I mean serious peeling had to stay home for like a few days and keep applying moisturizer so it wasn't that obvious

Hi, this question is for lighterrr, I have been following some of your post and you inspired me to order some HQ from the net. But I am really curious to know more about your journey with the 20% HQ. How long did it take you to lighten with the 20% HQ. Do you think that your successful results were due to a combination of HQ and mono. I only have one month to lighten because I have a special engagement to attend. I am ordering the 40% HQ next week. I know everyone's skin is different, but I guess I just want some indication of how long it took for you. Thank you much. I see that you have participated in 2 forums lately and I am not sure if you will respond to this forum quicker or the other one, so I'm going to ask this question in the other forum too! Lighterrr, one more thing, if you have darker areas on the body, will those take longer to lighten than the rest of the areas or will it all lighten uniformly. If it takes longer from your experience, how long did it take you? Thanks!

No problem pris, I used hq 20% and I started to lighten @ about 1 week, my lightening was pretty quick, the harder to lighten areas knuckles took almost a month to lighten or I should say catch up with the rest of my body

Thanks lighterrr, did you get any irritations? How often did you use it within the 1 month period? When I called the lady said that some people turn dark the first week, did you experience this? What did the kojic acid soap do for you, or did it make you skin better? How so? Do you think it work quicker for you because you used mono? I know it's a lot of questions--but I just don't want to give myself false hopes again only to be disappointed. I have battled with skin discolorations my whole life and I am tired of hiding behind clothes and feeling insecure? Thanks again!

mepk5, lighterrr, or anyone--I have been trying to call the .net people today, but no one answers. In fact, I keep getting a message that says "the customer that you are calling is unavailable at the moment, please try again later". It almost seem light someone's personal cell phone or something. I don't know, but I am really skeptical about ordering from them now. I mean I'm a student and I don't have hundreds of dollars to waste. And then I have been reading some of the threads and it says that .net is a scam. I am so confused. Are these people scam artists or something?

WOW 20% HQ? I've only been using 2%HQ with AHA soap and my skin went from Aaliyah to cassie 20% is EXTREME you can't even buy that in Canada I tried 4% ONCE and woke up with big puffy eyes overlapping and tiny red bleeding bumps. Imagine what 20% would do. Get the AHA soap for the marks over your lips etc, and pills that will work from the inside.

And I got the mono after five months from there.. and I mussay at least they didn't cheat me.. so I can't slander them anymore... they were earnest enough to send me the product although late..

But I was surprised the lady couldn't let me know if the product was micronized or not... she siad that was a trade secret... I was kind of surprised.. I mean there are sites which offer micronized mono after alll..

It wasn't as if I was asking her the secret recipe or something.. I even remember mono.net used to sell micronized mono before... so what's the big deal in telling me if its micronized or not...

But yeah then I got to know it wasn't from my medical friend.. and he had me grinding it etc. to get it to that state.

THe customer service people however are very nice though... no denying that.

I might just get this product / mono powder tested.. but my friend is saying there are some issues that he needs to sort out.. so I can't get it tested immediately to know if it's the real thing...

Well chandani you don't know the pains I have taken to confide in this guy.. I mean I'm so scared firstly about using all these products.. and secondly I'm scared that he may go around telling everyone high and mightily that I'm trying to bleach.. plus I'm a guy.. so I'm a little extra wary... other guys or girls are fine with women lightening because that's what women do... use creams to make themselves luk good.. but guys are considered weird and sissy if they do... but then I had to get him on board.. so now he is waiting for me to have it worked up on so he can start using such products himself.. lol

It was your face Lighterrr, 8% make me peel on my face but not my body. Your face is a softer texture. The face is very sensitive.

Hi Chandani, I would like to thank you for your honesty. It took me a moment to respond to your post because I wanted to go through all of your previous post to see if your screen-name was associated to a retailer/seller--and I see that it was not. After reading your post I never really saw where you advertise or recommended a product from a particular source or brand name. So I trust your advise. To be perfectly honest if I spent that amount of money and received no results--I don't think I would be able to stop crying, so thanks again.

Lighterrr, I have to say that I really have not seen a lot of successful testimonies about .net HQ. You mentioned that there were other people who were on the board and saw results, but if you don't mine I ask that you name one. I would never accuse you of fraud or misrepresentation--But I just so happen to be a broke law student with only 3 weeks remaining until finals--And I have asked my poor mother for $350 of her hard earned money to purchase two 16 ounce bottles of 40% HQ. I lied to her and told her that it was for my rent--meanwhile I asked my boyfriend for $400 to cover this months rent. I lied to him too and told him that my mom was behind on her house note and couldn't cover it. It hurted my to lie to people I love--but because I am so desperate to have clear skin I felt I had no choice.

Lighterrr, I truly hope that you are a legit customer with real results and that you wouldn't try to scam people for whatever reason, because if you are--you are messing with people lives and money and that hurts!!

Hi Cutebeth, Garden of wisdom is very legit, I ordered some products from her. I also ordered hq powder a while ago--but I am having the hardest time dissolving it. I have tried ethyl alcohol and water and the crystals still won't dissolve and I really don't think it's absorbing into my skin. How do you make your HQ lotion and get the crystals to dissolve?

I'm not sure--but I only ordered my glycerol stearate, vitamin C powder, and a few other items from her. I got my HQ powder from an online photo store--if you get it from a photo store make sure it does not say photo grade HQ, because it may be mixed w/ other chemicals. It should just say HQ. You can Google garden of wisdom to see if they send products to the UK. I didn't get my HQ from there because it was such a small amount and for like $20 or $30 something. I don't remember which online photo store I got my HQ from, but there are so many--you are bound to find something.

After speaking with one of the representatives, I felt sure about ordering from .net, but now I hearing things from unsatisfied customers.

It's really terrifying, because Christina, the rep. seemed to be really sincere and I connected with her testimony. That's why I don't understand why others haven't seen results. I have used 6% HQ on my face for about 3 years--a dermatogist makes it herself and sells it to customers. But it only comes in 30 grams and it would be too expensive to cover my whole body.

You didn't even peel??

Chandani, how often did you use it--was there burning--did the cream appear to absorb into your skin. And how many days/weeks have you used it for?

Its been two weeks and the cream is almost done... not a single peel! But it did seem to absorb well..

Hi Chandani--my skin specialist makes a cream with about 10% hq, retinol, and glycolic acid. I'm not exactly sure if it's 10% you have to ask her, the # and email is on the website. Here cream works really good--but I only used it on my face. I don't know how it works on the body. I didn't try it on my body because the cream only comes in 30g and it's $21/cream--so I would be spending about $400 for only 16 ounces and that's way too expensive for me. She has a website but I don't know what it is, I Google "tara's cream" and it comes up. Her full name is Tara Rhuebottom and she is a black skin care specialists.

I tried the 4% from neo strata it came in a little tube for like 50 dollars I bought both the cream and gel and only applied to my face cause the tube was so small and it didn't work for me, maybe you guys have used too much skin lighteners and your skin has developed a tolerance? Hi Chandani--my skin specialist makes a cream with about 10% hq, retinol, and glycolic acid. I'm not exactly sure if it's 10% you have to ask her, the # and email is on the website. Here cream works really good--but I only used it on my face. I don't know how it works on the body. I didn't try it on my body b/c the cream only comes in 30g and it's $21/cream--so I would be spending about $400 for only 16 ounces and that's way too expensive for me. She has a website but I don't know what it is, I google "tara's cream" and it comes up. Her full name is Tara Rhuebottom and she is a black skin care specialists.

In addition, before applying the cream--I showered and exfoliated with St. Ives scrub (the blemish free one with sycilic acid 2%--get it from wal-mart or any local grocery store) I let that say on my body for like 40 minutes. but starting tm I will only do it for 20 min.

You are so welcome--But thank you for creating the tread and to Chandani, and all the others for being candid.

Just remember to disolve the HQ powder 1st. If you don't it will be very hard to dissolve it in the cream mixture. You should not have to reheat it--but I had to because I didn't dissolve it first before mixing it with the cream.

Pure HQ is in the form of crystals. Once completely dissolved in ethyl--the HQ should appear as a powder like substance--in big pieces. You must smash it and then add it to some lotion--and then add water as you see fit (the water is there to help the cream glide over skin for easy application). Don't forget about a cell renewal agent--I'm looking for one on eBay right now. GoW has one, but I want to check all my options to get the best deal.

If you find that your skin gets irritated--do some research on topical steroids.

In fact, before you start to even make the cream do some research on Kilgman's HQ formula--one of the most original HQ formulas. Proceed when you feel comfortable. Remember, it's trial and error--but you will learn so much through researching and preparing your own formula--and you don't have to question it's authencity!!

Also do a general research for HQ (you need to know it's boiling point, etc.)

When you purchase your HQ (doesn't matter the source) it should have 6 carbons, 6hydrogens, and 2 oxygens. The molecular formula should read C6H6O2 OR C6H4(OH)2

Okay--just make sure that the HQ is not mixed with metol--b/c than it would be considered photograde HQ.

For photography purposes, HQ in conjunction with the compound Metol, reduces silver halides to elemental silver

I didn't trust mono on my face or BA. The mono spots started to move to my face but I believe the 8% made the one spot blend in.

You are BRAVE... Im glad this worked. But everything takes time. I know that the mono had to go deep down in my skin before I saw the first spots. The stuff is in my skin now & its popping up everywhere. I know the HQ may take time also.

I tried the fresh up too. It was only a sample though and it didn't work for me either. Did you try using lemons? I'm using it now and it's working very slowly. A lot of nipple lightening creams also work on the lips. Maybe you can try that. I might try it too.

There was an herbal one on eBay but I can't remember the name. Someone else mentioned mayfair nipple cream, which worked on lips too.

Hey Everyone, you know I haven't forgotten about you guys and I have love for all of you, but I'm approaching finals--so I will check in with you once per week until the 23rd--my last final, lol.

About my experience so far w/ the cream: As I stated I saw lightening on my face the 1st day--but it wasn't from that particular application of the cream. I applied the cream the 2 nights in a row (Friday and Saturday)--but when I applied it--it just looked like crystals sitting on top of my skin--so I didn't think that it would have any effect. However, the only explanation for the immediate lightening effect is that some of the HQ had dissolved. Thus, when I scrubbed my face w/ the appriocot srub--some of the dead skin came off--which would explain the expedient lightening occurring on my face. Also, because I used HQ mixed w/ glycolic acid and retinol compounded from a skin specialist for like 3 years, the skin on my face is thinner and easier to srub off.

HQ does not bleach your skin--it only decreases the amt of melocytes that your skin produce--thereby causing a lightening effect. But guys, until the 1st layer of the epedermis is removed--you won't see the HQ working as quickly or receive the full benefits.
IT IS VITAL THAT YOU USE GLYCOLIC ACID OR RETINOL TO SEE THE FULL BENEFITS QUICKLY.

I was able to shed more than 50 pounds( not sure how many exactly) in less than 5 month using an appetite suppressor my doctor prescribed. I am not sure if you are breast feeding because if you are,this will not work for you. Some people such as my sister experienced side effects such as increasing heart rate and dizziness. I tried etta's bleaching powder since it was so popular it does work but it only lightens the top layer of your skin after using it the next day when I would take a shower I wouldn't be light like how I was just after using it but I only used it for a month though

Hi Chandani--my skin specialist makes a cream with about 10% hq, retinol, and glycolic acid. I'm not exactly sure if it's 10% you have to ask her, the # and email is on the website. Here cream works really good--but I only used it on my face. I don't know how it works on the body. I didn't try it on my body b/c the cream only comes in 30g and it's $21/cream--so I would be spending about $400 for only 16 ounces and that's way too expensive for me. She has a website but I don't know what it is, I google "tara's cream" and it comes up. Her full name is Tara Rhuebottom and she is a black skin care specialists.

She gave me a prescription for a cream with 10% hq... it also has kojic acid and retinol... it's worked wonders for me because I'm light skinned and get dark post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation spots if I get any SEMBLANCE of a blemish.

Kligman and Willis used a combination regimen of 5% HQ, 0.1% tretinoin, and 0.1% dexamethasone in a hydrophilic ointment and demonstrated an efficacy in the treatment of melasma, ephelides, and postinflammatory hyperpigmentation.[29] In this formula, tretinoin functions as an irritant to facilitate epidermal penetration of HQ, and it also plays an antioxidative role to prevent oxidation of HQ. Dexamethasone, on the other hand, is used to decrease the irritation caused by HQ or tretinoin and to inhibit melanin synthesis by decreasing cellular metabolic activity. Depigmentation occurs rapidly beginning within 3 weeks after twice-daily application of the formula and maximizing in 5 to 7 weeks.

As sulfur-containing moeties, NAC and glutathion exert an inhibitory effect on tyrosinase, which may also account for their bleaching properties.

I would suggest combining some of these things in your mixture, or at the very least taking them orally. Don't just try one product try several (soap, cream, lotion, gel, pills, exfoliate, etc) and research. I have been tracking the effects of NAC, MSM, and pycnogenol taken orally. Also, be realistic and don't expect to get results overnight.

Well I was lucky the company made a special batch for me it's a pink color & a lot thicker. Of course I had to add a tube of reitn a. If I use the acid soap together I will scratch all night. So far no peeling. I don think I will peel but I'm expecting to get the area around the light spots to blend in... soon!! I will patiently give it 30 days to see something... my face still peel from obagi & retin a.

Yasmine you are right skin is a full time job and you definitely need a combination of lightners to achieve lighting and yes it doesn't happen like yesterday like we all want it 2

Hmmmm... I don't think that's what I use... I believe when I first went to her, she said I could try her cream or she could get me something stronger from a custom scripts pharmacy out of state... you should e-mail or call and ask what specifically is in it... the cream I use has 10% hq

30% glycolic I've only done 10% omg, even thought I'm maintaning skin lightening is an obsession cause I still feel the need to continue to add products to my regimn, people I think I'm slowly losing control of my life the staying light is taking over.:confused:

Well I think I may be becoming one. For the last 3 days at work all I've done all day is surf the web trying to find reviews/formulas/suggestions etc. And tonight... right now it's 2 am and I'm still searching. I really want to buy the HQ 10% but the mono site is so expensive... then I saw info about glycolic acid... so now I'm losing my mind trying to figure out where I can get all of this stuff!!

When I go get facials I noticed they would use hydrogen peroxide. I tried it. It didn't burn but it did lighten my skin. It bleached my eyebrows over a period & facial fuzz

mepk5, thanks for your reply. Do you just use a cotton bud to apply the hydrogen peroxide? FYI, I've read that HQ reacts with hydrogen peroxide to darken skin.

It was used as an astringent. I don't know if it will darken but I don't see how. It will bleach your hair, teeth & your skin a little. Try it w a cotton ball on your arm hairs for about 5 days. U will see them turn red. Then if u continue they will turn blonde.cotton ball full.

How's every body lightening coming along? I have actually took different turn and decided to risk it all... the results are satisfying and I can finally show some skin. I am not suppose to do what I did... but I was desprate and had to do something to take me out of of this stress!

What did I do? I used the same compound my Dr. prescribed and applied it for over a month contiuosuly... I will not recommend it to anyone just seeking lightening... I had to use it to fix what monobenzone and other chemicals messed! I am now using my own mix that I made. I am lightened 3 shades which it wasn't my main purpose! And now using my mix to maintain... so far so good!

Hope to hear good stories from you girls... and MepK5 I know how you feel... if you ares till suffering I will be more than happy to send you some of what I have to help you get rid of these nasty spots. Good luck everyone!

I got african movate that lightened me up in like 3 days NO JOKE its so strong that I have white spots now and the skin ALL OVER MY BODY is peeling like crazy, like a snake sheeding its cover, I can't use the movate anynore cause of the white spots, like not mj white spots more like rihanna white spots

Oh my goodness! What is it w mono? U stop that crap & it courses through your body like a snake. Im still getting spots. It has gone to my back behind my thighs now. My spots didn't pop up spot at a time. I saw it under the skin then the next day they were up.

Send me some photos. Some one suggested menquoil? Or the beno stuff. Im going back to the Dr. & see what he thinks now.
