Hiya. Lol I took your title. I'm so uncreative. 8)
So I've gotten this much like an hour before I went to sleep this morning haha.
Though I feel like there should be a different choice of words for a better flow. :(

From the fairytale that brought me to you,
I've always thought
From the time you vanished
I've never forgot
And 'til now
Like to love,
A one-sided escalation
The book I read
And the one I'm reading,
I love them both.

However out story unfolds,
Through stormy days
Or muddy roads
You'll still be my prince.
Where you go
I will come.
Where I can't
I will wait.

I'll be there for you,
I promise you.

About the "River flows in you" video, it was very pretty! But a bit slow for me.

Hi, Shiang!

I'm sorry that I wasn't on at about the time that I said that I would be. I was having some major connection problems, so I decided to do some major computer maintenance. It took a couple of hours.

I will work on this. Please give me some time, though.

Yes, the words could be somewhat different for a better flow. Many times, songs and pieces are written and re-written many times until things are just right.

But, I do think that I get the idea of what you are trying to convey as far as the thought and meaning is concerned.

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 17, 2009, 06:18 AM
That's all right. I fell asleep after I posted it haha.
Computer maintenance causes connection problems?

As long as it takes. :)

Oh that's good. Most of the time I confuse people. [especially when I give driving directions haha]

Thank you, Clough.

Clough

I figured that I had to try something to get things to work faster...

I'll return later this evening to work on this, Shiang.

I have a performance and then a rehearsal tonight.

Thanks!

Shiang

Okie dokie. Good luck on your preformance. c:

Clough
Mar 17, 2009, 09:32 PM
Hi again, Shiang!

Here's a possible re-write of some of what you've written so that it has definite verses, meter, balance and some sort of chorus part.

I'm trying not to leave anything out, and also retain your original thoughts, but I think that the order of sentences could work better for a song if placed in a different order.

From the fairytale that brought me to you,
I've always thought from the time you vanished,

How the story unfolds, throughout stormy days,
Through muddy roads, you'll still be my prince.

Where you go, I will come.
Where I can't, I will wait.

To be there for you,
I promise to you.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 17, 2009, 09:44 PM
It sounds... so much better! :0
Though seems like the second and third sentence says that it thought of how the story unfolds? :S

Clough
Mar 17, 2009, 10:25 PM
Sorry about taking so long to come back here, Shiang! After I wrote post #6, I couldn't get back on the site. Connection problems, again! Restarted my computer. Wireless connection doesn't seem to be working very well right now, so have switched to a dial-up connection.

How's this one that's below?

From the fairytale that brought me to you,
I've always thought from the time that you vanished,

However our story unfolds, throughout stormy days,
Through muddy roads, you'll still be my prince.

Where you go, I will go.
Where I can't, I will then await.

To be there for you,
I promise to you.

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 17, 2009, 10:33 PM
That's not a problem. :)

That sounds good as well, but still with the lines two and three, I feel like they should be separate with a period or something. Like to say that I thought of him, but not think of a story, you know? Am I confusing? :s

Clough
Mar 17, 2009, 10:40 PM
I'm here and I hope that I'll stay connected!

Would you please write how you would like them to be so that I know precisely what you mean?

I'm thinking that the song should be in 3/4 time. The lyrics would need to fit that sort of meter then.

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 17, 2009, 10:56 PM
I hope so too. :)

All right I'll give it a go

What is 3/4 time?

Clough
Mar 17, 2009, 11:00 PM
3/4 time is three beats in a measure. It's called a time signature.

Just please re-write those two lines to the way that you would like them to be, if you would be so kind.

This is a song that's being developed, and there could be many changes to it.

When we've gotten some music going to it, and you print out and play them music, you'll be better able to understand what I mean by meter, time signatures and how the words to a song fit with them.

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 17, 2009, 11:03 PM
Oh hmm like in a dance? How it some times goes by eight counts, then six, and on?

Just this one, I wanted to add that "of you" but it just doesn't sound... nice.
"I've always thought [of you] from the time that you vanished."

Clough
Mar 17, 2009, 11:11 PM
Yes, the beats and rhythms used from meters and time signatures are like dance.

The changes below will work with 3/4 time.

From the fairytale that brought me to you,
I've always thought about you from the time you vanished.

What would you like to title of the song to be, please?

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 17, 2009, 11:21 PM
Oh okay. I dance so maybe what I learn there could help me understand. :)

Two yous in once line bothers me somehow.

Ack it's so hard to think of a title! Perhaps something like "vitality"? Or maybe that one is just to um irrelevant?

Oh this is so random but, why is it that you have thanks at the end of nearly every post? Is it like a signature?

Clough
Mar 17, 2009, 11:29 PM
What kind of dancing are you learning?

Two "yous" in a sentence is okay. We can always experiment with finding different ways to word any sentence though.

I can think of lots of ideas for a title, if you'd like to know what they are, please let me know. However, it is your song and I'm trying to make it from your heart.

I say thanks at the end of nearly every post to be polite and to have a closure to the post. I know that I overdo it sometimes, but it has become a habit. I also don't do it all of the time, but I do like my posts to be as friendly as possible and not abrupt or insensitive.

Thanks! LOL!

Shiang
Mar 17, 2009, 11:38 PM
Popping, Jerking, Contemporary[?], and African modern. Many types of dance, though I don't know most of their names.
Our main teacher has three assistants to help him introduce other styles.

I'd love to know what they are. :) It's just like, I get a blank when I have to think of it when asked, do you know what I mean?

Ohh I see. It reminds of me a classmate of mine. She has a habit of saying sorry, though sometimes it doesn't make sense when she does.

Haha I shall say you're welcome at the end then. XD

Clough
Mar 17, 2009, 11:47 PM
I'm glad that you're taking formal dance training!

What kind of music training, if any, have you had? Have you had any music classes in school?

Possible titles:

I Will Wait for You

My Promise to You

To the One I Love

My Song to You

Considering the type of dance styles that you're learning, I can see why "The River Flows in You" is probably too slow for your liking.

Shiang
Mar 17, 2009, 11:55 PM
Music training? Hmm I don't think I've had any classes on music, except in fourth grade. Haha.

That class is a load of fun with hard work attached to it.
I prefer more energetic kind of music, unless I'm about to go to sleep.
"The River Flows in You" is a pretty piece though, it doesn't give a upbeat feel.

Ohh hmm. I like My Promise to You the most, though I like My Song to You as well.

Clough
Mar 18, 2009, 12:03 AM
Then let's use "My Promise to You". I need some sort of title so that I can start the program where I'll write the music.

I listen to "The River Flows in You" over and over. I also like upbeat kinds of music. Do you have any links to where there are sound files of the kinds of music that you like?

What kind of music does your friend like, and what sort of music does he play on the violin, please?

Shiang
Mar 18, 2009, 12:08 AM
Alrighty. c:

Ohh that's cool. Haha I have so much that I like, do you really want the links? XD

He likes... all music. He just loves it all. I haven't heard him play in a while, but mostly he does more of the classical type on his violin.

Clough
Mar 18, 2009, 12:17 AM
What I'm thinking, is because of the nature of the words of your song, that it needs to be kind of slow. Not as slow as "The River Flows in You", though.

How long has he been studying the violin? I want to write this so that he will be able to play it, so I need to have an idea as to how difficult music could be that he can play.

It will be in piano format, but he can play just the melody line. Someone else could play the left-hand accompaniment, if they would like to.

Do you know anyone who plays the piano pretty well?

Yes, I would like the links to some music that you like so that I can get an idea as to what you really like.

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 18, 2009, 12:27 AM
Haha no metal for those words. XD

He has been playing since he was very little around 6 yrs old?
Left-hand accompaniment?

I don't think I know anyone that can play piano well, I could ask band friends if they know.

I'll list 6 of them.

Mar 18, 2009, 12:34 AM
Thanks for the links! I will check them out!

Yes, no metal for those words! LOL!

Left-hand accompaniment is music that supports the music that's being played by the right-hand on the piano. In the case of your song though, it will be music that will support and go along with a melody that's in the treble clef.

Since he's been playing since he was around 6 years old and now, I would presume is around your age, then I think that he should be fairly advanced on the violin by now.

What do you mean by band friends? Are they people who play in a concert band or other types of bands?

Clough
Mar 18, 2009, 12:35 AM
Another thought for the title might include your boyfriends name. Would you like to include his name in the title?

Shiang
Mar 18, 2009, 12:45 AM
I hope they are entertaining for you.

Yeah haha imagine that! Its like um... you know L80ETC? They sing silly epic songs, but they are rock band.

Ohh. Pianos look so complicated with all their keys. Lol he is a year older. c:

By band friends I mean anyone who plays for the school like marching band, orchestra, and a few who have their own concert kind bands afterschool.

Haha noooo. It'd be like so awkward if it was his name for the title.

Clough
Mar 18, 2009, 12:56 AM
Here is the link to a virtual piano. I can show you how to play some things on it sometime. You might even be able to play your song on it! But, that does depend on how your song is developed.

VIRTUAL KEYBOARD - PIANO (http://www.bgfl.org/bgfl/custom/resources_ftp/client_ftp/ks2/music/piano/index.htm)

It does sound like you would be likely to know someone who can play the piano version of your song.

Do you mind if I put Shiang/Clough for the lyricist and composer of the song?

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 18, 2009, 12:58 AM
Ohh that's so cool! I'm a play with it right now haha.

You can make it all you. c:

Clough
Mar 18, 2009, 01:00 AM
Thanks! But, the words really are yours. We're just making them so that they will fit the music.

So, I'm going to make it Shiang/Clough, if that's okay with you?

Shiang
Mar 18, 2009, 01:03 AM
Ohh! I just remembered my sister has a keyboard like that, only it has more keys. It could always be changed right so if I get any ideas or want changes I tell. c:

Oh could you change Shiang to Tobii? I use Tobii more often. C:

Clough
Mar 18, 2009, 01:06 AM
Yes, I can use whatever name you would like. I just need to put something in to start the program.

Is Tobii a nickname or your real name, please?

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 18, 2009, 01:09 AM
Ah okay. c:

Ohh Tobii is my nickname, since a lot of english speakers? Have a hard time pronouncing my real name or I get mixed up with words that people say.

Clough is your nickname?

Clough
Mar 18, 2009, 01:12 AM
Clough is my real last name. My first name is Craig.

I'll use Tobii, if that is what you would like. Although, last names are what is usually used for these sort of things on the music.

Shiang
Mar 18, 2009, 01:17 AM
You have a cool name though. :O

Yes, please. :D
My last name would be Duong, but its made up of ugly letters and an unpleasant meaning. D:

Clough
Mar 18, 2009, 01:23 AM
Thanks!

Okay, I'll use what you like then. First melody for your song will be appearing on this thread shortly. It will take me five to ten minutes to write and post it.

Words can be added right on the music later, but that's something that's harder for me to do. I guarantee that the words will be able to be sung with the music, though.

Would you like to play a song now that you might know on the virtual keyboard while you're waiting, that is, if you would like to wait?

Shiang
Mar 18, 2009, 01:28 AM
Alrighty.

I'm sure it is harder to add the words to match the music. :o

I think I'm done playing with the keyboard tonight. :)
I'll just read a book while waiting.

Clough
Mar 18, 2009, 01:32 AM
It's because of how the program works that it's hard to add the words. I write the music to fit the words. Once you have someone play the melody, I'm sure that you'll be able to see how the words would fit.

Okay then, an example of your song will appear here in a number of minutes.

Clough
Mar 18, 2009, 01:35 AM
It could always be changed right so if I get any ideas or want changes I tell. c:

Yes, any of what we write can be changed.

Shiang
Mar 18, 2009, 02:03 AM
Dang it's 2am. I've got to get to bed now, since I have an exit exam to take in a few hours.

Goodnight. c:

Clough
Mar 18, 2009, 02:06 AM
Here are the first four lines of your song set to music. I re-worded it again just slightly.

From the fairytale that brought me to you,
I've always thought from the time that you vanished,

However our story unfolds, throughout stormy days,
And through muddy roads, that you'll still be my prince.

Goodnight!

Shiang
Mar 18, 2009, 06:34 PM
The wording sounds good :)

Ooo but I can't read it haha. I made my sister play it for me this morning so I could hear what it sounds like. c:

Clough
Mar 18, 2009, 10:49 PM
Hi, Shiang!

So, how did it sound to you? I hope that you liked it!

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 19, 2009, 09:34 PM
It sounded very nice and quick. I liked it very much. C:

Clough
Mar 19, 2009, 09:41 PM
Okay, thanks!

I wondered when you would return to here. How did your exam go?

Shiang
Mar 19, 2009, 09:44 PM
Haha I took a long nap after my audition today. The exam went pretty well? Easier than expected, but too much time left and there was nothing to do. :c

Clough
Mar 19, 2009, 09:47 PM
What do you mean by "audition", please?

Shiang
Mar 19, 2009, 10:01 PM
Oh uhm like, one of the instructors came and graded and also picked who she wanted to have in her dance to preform in late May.

Clough
Mar 19, 2009, 10:05 PM
Do you know if you got a part in it yet?

Shiang
Mar 19, 2009, 10:10 PM
I know for sure I didn't because I messed up on one of the turns the second try. So no go for that dance in May. c:

Clough
Mar 19, 2009, 10:18 PM
I'm sorry to hear that you didn't make it! Oh well, you can try again next time!

Does your sister play a keyboard instrument?

Shiang
Mar 19, 2009, 10:20 PM
It's all right though haha. Yup many more tries to go to. :D

She plays a little bit, like she just started recently. So yes?

Clough
Mar 19, 2009, 10:26 PM
Yup, I like your attitude concerning trying! :D We're never through...

Would you like to see a harder version of your song that has more to it in order for it to sound fuller and more beautiful?

Shiang
Mar 19, 2009, 10:30 PM
Haha because if one gives up they go no where. :)

Sure, that'd be great. :D I'll torture her in the morning trying to teach me it. XD

Clough
Mar 19, 2009, 10:34 PM
Yes, I agree with you! If one gives up, they do go nowhere!

What I'm going to post is going to be too difficult for your sister to play it with both hands at the same time. One of your other musician friends who has been playing awhile will be able to play.

Does your sister play on a real piano or some kind of keyboard or electric piano?

Shiang
Mar 19, 2009, 10:37 PM
Ah okay. I have found my friend's sister who has played almost as long as the violinist, but she doesn't go to my school. Most people here play Guitar, and only a tiny bit of piano.

She plays a keyboard I think it's what it's called. It looks like cutting out the key's chunk of the paino, putting it on legs, right?

Clough
Mar 19, 2009, 10:44 PM
Yes, that's a keyboard. The other version of your song is coming. Will just take me a couple of minutes to post it here.

Clough
Mar 19, 2009, 10:47 PM
Below, is a more complicated version of your song that you could print and then see if a friend could play it. The melody is the same as the very first one that I posted. This one now has the left-hand accompaniment that I earlier described about on this thread.

Shiang
Mar 19, 2009, 10:52 PM
Oh wooow. So many notes haha.
A different melody? Like uhm tone? :s

But yaaay I can't wait to know what it sounds like. :D

Clough
Mar 19, 2009, 10:58 PM
Do you know what a treble and a bass clef is?

artlady
Mar 19, 2009, 10:59 PM
Nice Lyrics! I like it cool.
I know what I'm talking about and its good. Mucho music experience.

Shiang
Mar 19, 2009, 11:03 PM
I do not know what they are, but what they look like. Let's assume I forgot most things from fourth grade music class haha. :D

Hello, and thank you Artlady. :)

Clough
Mar 19, 2009, 11:06 PM
Thanks for the compliments, artlady! Shiang and I have now been working on her song for a few days. What is your background in music, please? I know that you and I already share a number of things in common. But, I would appreciate knowing more about what it might be musically.

Thanks!

Clough
Mar 19, 2009, 11:08 PM
I do not know what they are, but what they look like. Let's assume I forgot most things from fourth grade music class haha. :D

Hello, and thank you Artlady. :)

Would you like to know more about music and piano so that you would be able to play your song, Shiang? I know that I could teach you how to play the melody fairly quickly. Not all tonight, but soon.

I would enjoy teaching you if you would like to learn! :)

Shiang
Mar 19, 2009, 11:15 PM
I would like to know more about music and piano. Haha however long it takes I'd love to learn how. :D

Okay, that's great! Then we can learn about music and also how you can play your song on this thread!

I'm going to post images of your song with an easier left-hand accompaniment that I'm sure wouldn't take you very long to learn after you learn how to play the melody with your right-hand.

Like before, it will take me a couple of minutes to post the images.

I love music. My grandparents ran a type of speakeasy in the old days ,my grandmother made the beer and gin.My mother sang and my grandfather played the piano. My mother just had her 85th birthday yesterday.I learned all my first music from Mom and my Grandfather, then there is a very long history of being with band people. Band manager so much fun..
Kidding it got boring.
I have always been involved with pretty top music people where I live.My son is a hot DJ.
He rocks it.
Music is the bomb:)

Here is a version of your song that we've worked on so far, that has much less of a complicated accompaniment. It is easy to play.

Haha it does look easier. Thanks for showing me, Clough. :D
It's time for me to get to sleep. Goodnight. :)

Clough
Mar 19, 2009, 11:48 PM
Then we'll work at a later time then...

I look forward to doing that with you! This sort of thing can happen online, but it just takes a bit of doing...

I'm house and dog-sitting for some friends this Saturday through next Saturday. So, I'll probably be on here quite a bit.

Plus, the weekend is coming up here, so maybe you and I can get a lot done as far as learning and writing.

I do hope that you print out the music so that someone who does play the piano can play them for you.

Thanks!

Goodnight to you, too! :)

Clough
Mar 20, 2009, 12:10 AM
Did you see my last question to you in post #70, artlady?

Shiang
Mar 20, 2009, 07:45 PM
Actually when I think about it... how will learning online work out haha?

Ohh dog-sitting? Is it fun?
Speaking of dogs, this man was "walking" like 7 dogs. They pulled him while he was on his bike.

Hopefully lotsa things done :)

I printed it and asked my sister to play, but she seemed to have trouble with it.

Clough
Mar 20, 2009, 08:03 PM
Hi, Shiang!

I just got an email saying that you had responded on this thread, so I wanted to respond.

I moved in a day early where I'm house and dog-sitting because my friends are leaving very early in the morning and didn't want to let the dogs out so soon to bark in the neighborhood.

Learning online will work. It's not ideal for learning the piano, but I'm sure that you can learn a lot of things about that by the things that we can do.

The dog-sitting is fun! I sit on the dogs and they have to obey! Ha, ha! :)

I knew that your sister would have trouble playing the more complicated versions of your song since she is a beginner. I'm sure that at least some of your friends who play the piano will be able to play them.

Anyway, I'm still trying to get some things done here where I'm staying, and I'll return after awhile...

I hope that you're still here when I return!

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 20, 2009, 08:15 PM
Ah I see. Haha you could play with them and they won't get tired that easily! :)

Alrighty! I look forward for lots of learning! :D

Haha I did it to torture her. There is so many people here that play guitar, and only a little bit of piano. It's a difficult thing to find those who can play piano well.

Okie dokie, have fun. I'll be here for a pretty long time haha. :)

Clough
Mar 20, 2009, 10:32 PM
Hi, Shiang!

Now, I'm back, if you have time to do anything here. I'm sorry that it took me so long to return!

Do you have time?

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 20, 2009, 10:34 PM
Hey, Clough. Welcome back! Not long at all. :)

I should have plenty of time tonight.

Clough
Mar 20, 2009, 10:36 PM
Okay. Quiz time.

I need to find out what you know about music nomenclature and theory. Okay?

Shiang
Mar 20, 2009, 10:47 PM
Hmm sure, but I will sooo get them all wrong.

Clough
Mar 20, 2009, 10:56 PM
Maybe not. I would give yourself a chance. After all, you have had some instruction in music, even though it might have been a long time ago.

First question is coming.

Clough
Mar 20, 2009, 10:58 PM
What is the name of this music sign?

Shiang
Mar 20, 2009, 10:59 PM
It be a Treble cleft? D:

Clough
Mar 20, 2009, 11:06 PM
You're correct! See, you do know something!

Now, what parts play or sing in the treble clef in music, please?

Shiang
Mar 20, 2009, 11:13 PM
Lol uh omg I was told this in the morning. Is it the left hand? And notes that aren't crazy and upside down?

Clough
Mar 20, 2009, 11:17 PM
Okay. So you don't know, and that's okay! Your education concerning music is something that's happening right here.

Music that's written in the treble clef are for the higher notes and sounds above middle "C" on the piano. "Treble" basically means "high".

What is this sign, please?

17844

Shiang
Mar 20, 2009, 11:21 PM
Ohh okay. :)

That one is a Bass cleft?

Clough
Mar 20, 2009, 11:24 PM
You're correct! It's a bass clef sign! What parts play or sing in the bass clef, please?

Shiang
Mar 20, 2009, 11:27 PM
I think it's like the lower sounds. Like in the gangsta rap that goes boom-chack lol.

Clough
Mar 20, 2009, 11:34 PM
Yes, it's used for the lower tones or sounds below middle "C" on the piano.

Where is the "C" located on the following image of a piano keyboard, please? Where on the left or right side? First, second, third etc. note from the left side of the keyboard? You could describe where it is located in a number of ways.

Shiang
Mar 20, 2009, 11:38 PM
It seems the attachment link is not working?

Shiang
Mar 20, 2009, 11:39 PM
Ah.. just kidding it didn't decide to appear until now. But I have no idea were the C is. :)

Clough
Mar 20, 2009, 11:44 PM
Okay. I know that the first time that I posted the image that it didn't appear. I don't know why it didn't, but I then fixed it.

The "C" is the very first white note on the left.

How many letters of the alphabet are used when writing or playing music, please?

Shiang
Mar 20, 2009, 11:48 PM
Is it seven? I remember there is like c gab def

Clough
Mar 20, 2009, 11:55 PM
Your correct! It's seven! A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. After that, the sequence of letters just starts over. A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, etc.

Did you understand that the first white note to the left on the image of the piano keyboard is a "C"? If you might, then where do you think the "E" might be located in relation to the "C", please?

Shiang
Mar 20, 2009, 11:59 PM
Yay! Would it be one letter over, after C? :0

Clough
Mar 21, 2009, 12:10 AM
I think that I understand what you're saying. Yes, it would be one letter over after the "C" on the white keys.

I'll post an image of the Virtual Keyboard in just a bit to help you to find notes.

Something weird is going on with my computer, so I'm going to restart it and come back on here in just a little bit.

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 21, 2009, 12:19 AM
It would always go in order like you posted up before? Starting from A?

Okie dokie. :)
I need to get to sleep. XO
Could we continue tomorrow?

Clough
Mar 21, 2009, 12:36 AM
Yes, they go from left to right in the order of the alphabet for seven letters.

Yes, we can continue tomorrow night. I restarted and appear to have lost my screen capture utility, so it would be hard for me now to post images of things like the Virtual Keyboard that I wanted to post. Things should be better on my computer tomorrow. It always acts weird after I've unplugged it an moved it.

I wish for you a goodnight and rest! :)

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 21, 2009, 02:16 PM
Hey just a quick post before I go to my cousin's birthday today haha.

I changed the words a bit and added a couple lines.
The added lines are like saying that I found him and without it it sounds like I lost and haven't found yet.
What do you think?

From the fairytale that brought me to you,
Even after the time you vanished,

I haven't forgetten,
I've always thought of you.

I'm reading again, my lost book,
Chapter after chapter.

However this story unfolds, throughout stormy days,
And through muddy roads, you'll still be my prince.

Where you go, I will come.
Where I can't, I await.

To be there for you,
I promise you.

Clough
Mar 21, 2009, 02:27 PM
Okay, I'll work on this later this evening, Shiang. I'm not sure just yet, but I might have to change the melody a bit.

I don't have much time now because of having to work.

I hope that you have a great time at your cousin's birthday party! :)

Mar 21, 2009, 04:01 PM
Hey, all of the above is great! Do you play a musical instrument? If so, what is it or are they, please?

Thanks!

Hi Clough.
They say God has a sense of humor and I am living proof. He gave me a love of music ,an appreciation of lyrics and a tin ear and a worse voice.I had a friend who forbade me from singing in her car! Like they say * I could not carry a note in a paper bag*.That's me!
I have dabbled with guitar and piano and harmonica but ,to be honest I would not call it *playing* an instrument.
Keep up the good work with helping these aspiring artists. It is so important to have this creative outlet and what you are doing is very kind.

Clough
Mar 21, 2009, 09:07 PM
Thank you so much for your kind words, artlady! They are much appreciated! Would you like to improve your skills at the piano and develop a better ear for how you might produce music that you can make yourself? I can show you how...

Shiang
Mar 21, 2009, 10:27 PM
Back from cousins house haha.

Melody change is fine. :)

And play computer at work? :s

Clough
Mar 21, 2009, 10:35 PM
I hope that you had a good time at the party!

I'm not sure what you mean by "And play computer at work?"

Please go to the link for the virtual piano and let me know when you're there and it's loaded up for you to play it.

I forgot to mention, that please open up the virtual keyboard in a separate browser or tab.

Thanks!

Thank-you for the offer Clough,it is most kind but I think for now I will stick to my graphic art as between my on line activism,my art and this site,my card is pretty full but if I ever change my mind I know where to come. Thanks again! :D

Haha never mind. :D

In a separate browser or tab?

Do you know the song, "Mary Had a Little Lamb?"

Shiang
Mar 21, 2009, 10:57 PM
I've got it in a separate window.

I heard that one before, in nursery.

Clough
Mar 21, 2009, 11:02 PM
If you know how the words go, would you please write them here? I want to make sure that you really know it.

This is all leading up to your being able to play the song that we're writing together.

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 21, 2009, 11:05 PM
Mary had a little lamb
Little lamb
Little lamb

Mary had a little lamb
And it was white as snow? XD

Clough
Mar 21, 2009, 11:12 PM
Hey, that's good!

Here's the notes that you would use on the virtual keyboard.

E, D, C, D, E, E, E__, D, D, D__, E, G, G__, E, D, C, D, E, E, E, E, D, D, E, D, C__

Where I've written a "__", that is where you would play a note for a longer time.

Please play it on the keyboard.

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 21, 2009, 11:22 PM
I played it a few times, but the E, E, E__ doesn't sound right. :\

Clough
Mar 21, 2009, 11:25 PM
The three "E"'s in a row is correct. There might be some variations on the song, but that is the usual way that it is played.

Did it sound like the way that you remember it?

Shiang
Mar 21, 2009, 11:36 PM
Lol the E was just really abrupt? It did sound like I remembered though.

Clough
Mar 21, 2009, 11:40 PM
That's good!

Here's the real music to it that's taken from the following site.

Free Piano Music! (http://www.gmajormusictheory.org/Freebies/freebies.html)

There is only one note that's different from the ones that I gave to you.

What do you think the letter name of the first note is?

17882

Shiang
Mar 21, 2009, 11:47 PM
I guess E is what it starts with?

Clough
Mar 21, 2009, 11:50 PM
That's correct! "E" is the bottom line of the treble clef staff!

What do you suppose those numbers under the notes are for?

Shiang
Mar 21, 2009, 11:53 PM
The numbers represent the lines that they are on?

Clough
Mar 21, 2009, 11:57 PM
The numbers are for the fingers the you would use in your right hand in order to play the notes.

The number three would be your third, or middle finger. Your little finger would be the number five.

What do you think the number of your thumb would be then?

Shiang
Mar 22, 2009, 12:08 AM
The thumb would be number one! Right? :s

Clough
Mar 22, 2009, 12:12 AM
Yes, the thumb would be number one. Your left-hand thumb would also be number one. Our hands are the opposite of each other, but the fingers are numbered the same.

What kind of note is this?

17884

Shiang
Mar 22, 2009, 12:23 AM
It is an eighth note! Or is it the one with a flag?

Clough
Mar 22, 2009, 12:28 AM
It's a quarter note. An eighth note would have a flag. How many flags would a sixteenth note have?

Clough
Mar 22, 2009, 12:31 AM
Here is an image of an eighth note.

17885

Shiang
Mar 22, 2009, 12:36 AM
I guess two flags for the sixteen one?

Clough
Mar 22, 2009, 12:40 AM
And, how many flags and what kind of note would be the next one after the sixteenth note if we're going up in numbers but shorter in the time duration of the notes?

Shiang
Mar 22, 2009, 12:46 AM
I do not know. :(

Clough
Mar 22, 2009, 12:50 AM
A 32nd note. This is what it would look like.

17886

Shiang
Mar 22, 2009, 12:51 AM
Holy wow! That's a big image lol.

So three flags for it?

Clough
Mar 22, 2009, 12:54 AM
The note values go like this:

1 ='s a whole note.
2 ='s a half note.
4 ='s a quarter note.
8 ='s an eighth note.
16 ='s a sixteenth note.
32 ='s a 32nd note.

and, so on.

Clough
Mar 22, 2009, 12:55 AM
Holy wow! That's a big image lol.

So three flags for it?

Yes, you're right. That is a big image and I should probably tame it down!

Yes, three flags for the 32nd note.

Clough
Mar 22, 2009, 12:58 AM
Here is the first page of your song again. What do you think are the letter names of the first two notes in the treble clef part, please?

17887

Shiang
Mar 22, 2009, 01:24 AM
Are they D?

Clough
Mar 22, 2009, 01:29 AM
You're close. They're "C"'s. Based upon what you've already learned, what finger of your right hand do you think that you would use on the two "C"'s?

Shiang
Mar 22, 2009, 01:31 AM
Would it be the middle finger?

Ack it's really late. I need to sleep. Have a goodnight. :)

Clough
Mar 22, 2009, 01:42 AM
It would be your right thumb which is finger number one.

I know, it's really late for me too!

I'll catch you later! We'll learn this stuff yet!

Goodnight and sweet dreams to you! :)

Shiang
Mar 23, 2009, 05:54 PM
Sorry for being absent yesterday. D:

I'ma go write notes for all that was posted the other day.

Clough
Mar 23, 2009, 06:19 PM
Hi, Shiang!

That's okay! I did wonder what had happened to you!

What do you mean by "notes", please? Music notes or maybe notes like a person might take in a class at school because of what the teacher is teaching?

I'll be on much later tonight. Not much time for here at this time... Am doing fancy painting on a ceiling in the home where I'm presently staying to take care of the dogs.

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 23, 2009, 06:31 PM
By notes I mean like a person might take in class. :) So I can remember easier or refer better.

Ohh wow! On a ceiling sounds so cool haha. Have fun with the dogs :D

Clough
Mar 23, 2009, 10:15 PM
I'm here now, Shiang! I can't stand being on the ladder anymore and my neck is killing me! I feel like Michelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel!

Hey, that's all too cool that you're taking notes about what we're trying to do here! You can really learn online, especially if you have "live" help!

Shiang
Mar 23, 2009, 11:49 PM
Aww I hope your neck feels better!

I have bad memory haha so I must write down. :) Live help super helpful!

Clough
Mar 23, 2009, 11:57 PM
Can you tell me some of the things that you've learned so far on this thread? You don't have to name them all, just some of them.

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 24, 2009, 12:00 AM
I learned that the half note has no flag, one flag is eighth note, 3 flag is 32nd note.
And on the hands thumb is 1 and to pinky it be 5.

Lol :)

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 12:03 AM
Hey, that's very good! :)

If your thumb, which is number one plays middle "C", which finger would play the "E" directly to the right of middle "C"?

Shiang
Mar 24, 2009, 12:06 AM
Finger three?

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 12:09 AM
You're correct again! :)

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 12:12 AM
Here's the first part of your song again. Your right thumb would play the first two "C"'s that are in the right hand, treble clef part. The next two notes are eighth notes. What is the letter name of the next two notes that are the eighth notes, please?

17950

Shiang
Mar 24, 2009, 12:13 AM
Would they be D?

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 12:17 AM
No, they are "E"'s. There is a space in between them and the "C"'s.

Please study what is on the following site for some beginning music theory.

sightsing.com Notes names and clefs (http://neilhawes.com/sstheory/sclef.htm)

You'll be able to play your song, but you need to know some basic things first.

What is the name and model number of the keyboard that your sister has?

Shiang
Mar 24, 2009, 12:26 AM
Oooh okay. That site is really helpful haha.

She tells me it's a Yamaha PSRE403. :0

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 12:32 AM
Okay, then I'm going to look the keyboard up. I can show you how to play it.

Please do study what's on that page. It's just very basic.

I'll return in a minute after looking up that keyboard.

Thanks!

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 12:39 AM
Is this what her keyboard looks like? The image is from the following site.

17951

Shiang
Mar 24, 2009, 12:42 AM
Yes it looks just like that. :)

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 12:46 AM
Cool! Then what's the letter name of the first white key on the left side?

Shiang
Mar 24, 2009, 12:47 AM
Is it C? >_<

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 12:51 AM
Yes, very good! It's "C".

Do you see how the black keys are arranged in a pattern of twos and threes?

Shiang
Mar 24, 2009, 12:54 AM
I see the pattern. :0

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 12:58 AM
The "C"'s are to the left of every grouping of two black keys. Can you find where all of the "C"'s are?

There are six of them on that keyboard. The last one on the top, right side isn't next to two black keys.

Shiang
Mar 24, 2009, 01:06 AM
There's a C after every set of 2 blacks?

Shiang
Mar 24, 2009, 01:07 AM
I mean before.

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 01:12 AM
Yes, before and to the left of them. If you look at every set of two black keys, the white key in between each of those sets is "D". Do you see them?

Shiang
Mar 24, 2009, 01:14 AM
Ohhh yes I see them :)

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 01:18 AM
Here's something else that will be helpful to you. It's from the following site.

Thank you for the helpful images and sites. :)

I've got to get to bed. Goodnight. :)

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 01:30 AM
Okay, we'll talk later then.

Please do study the things on every site to which I gave you a link. There is much information on them that will be helpful to you! Plus, the more you know, then the faster we can go here with writing and developing your song!

Goodnight and sweet dreams to you, too! :)

Clough
Mar 24, 2009, 11:06 PM
Are you there, Shiang?

Shiang
Mar 25, 2009, 06:31 AM

I won't be able to go online later today.

Clough
Mar 25, 2009, 04:50 PM

I'll take notes morning and take them with me. :)
Though I won't be able to go online at all this week after 7AM. D:

Clough
Mar 26, 2009, 01:43 PM
7:00 A.M. is in the morning. Does that mean that you can't be online late at night like we usually are?

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 26, 2009, 07:54 PM
Yes I can't be on late at night as usual for a few more days. Except occasionally I can check in really quick.

Clough
Mar 26, 2009, 09:02 PM
Okay, I understand. I'll look forward to resuming with you the composition of your song after a few days.

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 28, 2009, 10:47 AM
All right! I should be able to go on at night now. Hopefully I don't get myself in trouble again. :)

Oh and I found out, I played that Mary had a little lamb song with the wrong hand. Haha.

Clough
Mar 28, 2009, 11:55 AM
I'm glad that you were at least able to play it! It can be played with either hand, though.

The next time that we're on here at the same time, I'm wondering would you be able to use your sister's keyboard while you're online here?

I'm working on a way for you to be able to actually hear any music that I might write for this thread. I know that I can't put sound files on a thread that are too big. But, I should be able to put them on another site where I can provide a link to them.

I hope that you didn't get yourself in trouble because you were on here so late!

Thanks!

Shiang

Either hand is find to use?

Sure, I'll just switch over to my laptop and bring it up to her keyboard. Though I can't turn on the sound for it because it will bother whoever is sleeping.

Oh hmm. There is a size maximum for this thread? Anyway I get to hear it would be great haha. :D

Haha. I didn't get in trouble for being up late but, I was up so late I forgot to do the dishes before I went to sleep.

hi clough

Hi, rachelcuryy08!

One of the main instruments that I play is the tuba! What would you like to know, please? We will probably need to start a new thread for whatever it is that you would like to know or do since this thread is about what Shiang is wanting to do and learn. It would be okay to discuss, on this thread, about starting another thread somewhere else on this site though.

Thanks!

Clough

The main hand to use would be the right hand. However, when playing a melody, it can be okay to use either the right or left hand.

Thanks!

Shiang

Oooh alrighty. :)

While I was offline, I was trying to make sense of how the counts were supposed to go or like, how fast they go. And I think confused myself lol.

Clough
Mar 28, 2009, 11:10 PM
The counting and meter of it should go just the same as you remembered it in nursery.

Yes, there is a size maximum for sound files here that can be posted in the individual posts. I've been checking things out and asking questions about how to post sound files or link to them. It's going to take some further research and trial about how to do that.

I'm hopeful to be successful at doing that soon, though!

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 28, 2009, 11:18 PM
I don't remember what I learned I nursery?
I tried to like, link it with counts in dance. Like for the first few boom-boom ta-ta boom, 1, 2...

You could upload them on Veoh maybe? And link them from there? Hope you find a way soon, too. :)

Clough
Mar 28, 2009, 11:49 PM
I thought that you said that you had heard that song in nursery?

Anyway, I've just tried to upload a sound file to a storage site that was recommended to me and it didn't work. It was of the version of your song with the simpler accompaniment that I'm sure that you can play.

Have you studied material and/or taken notes off some of the sites to which I gave you the links?

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 28, 2009, 11:55 PM
I remember the songs, but I don't know. It's vague?

Oh sorry. D: I think that site is for mp4/5's. There is also this place, megaupload. I've only downloaded from there, and not sure what the way uploading is. :s

Yup I've written notes, and looked over the sites a few times when I get the chance.

Clough
Mar 28, 2009, 11:59 PM
Do you think that you could tell me all of the names of the notes that are on the treble and bass clef staffs if I were to quiz you about that?

Shiang
Mar 29, 2009, 12:11 AM
I don't think I can tell you the names of all the notes yet haha. :)

Clough
Mar 29, 2009, 12:20 AM
A review. Please study the following diagram. Please then tell me the names of the notes that I will list on an image of the keyboard that your sister has.

Thanks!

18082

Clough
Mar 29, 2009, 12:33 AM
Now, please tell me all of the names of the notes, left to right, that I've circled on the keyboard, please. I put a number "1" on middle "C".

18083

Shiang

D, G, middle C that you numbered, F, B, E, B, right?

Clough
Mar 29, 2009, 12:43 AM
You're absolutely correct, Shiang! And, you've just won the prize of $1,000,000 dollars! It will be sent to you in small increments over the next 1,000 years!

See, you are learning something here!

Shiang
Mar 29, 2009, 12:49 AM
Lol woot! At first I thought you meant asking me about the notes and their names though, instead of the letters and the keys. :o
I'll die 10 times over and I'll finally get my money lol.

Clough
Mar 29, 2009, 12:56 AM
Now, I thnk that you're pretty well oriented as far as where the notes are on your sisters keyboard.

Would you agree!

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 29, 2009, 01:04 AM
Haha I guess so.

I'ma head to bed now since it's pretty late. Goodnight. :)

Clough
Mar 29, 2009, 01:09 AM
Okay, goodnight and sweet dreams to you! We'll continue some other time then.

Hopefully, the next time we get together, I'll have a way that you can actually hear what I've written with the music!

Good evening? I have come back. :)

Clough
Mar 29, 2009, 11:57 PM
And, a good evening to you too, Shiang! Or, should I say morning, now? ;)

Something really cool just happened! :p I finally figured out how to store sound files on a site so that you can actually hear the music the way that I hear and wrote it!

Here is a link to a sound file of the less complicated version of your song that I'm sure that you could play! :D

My Promise to You - Less Complicated.wav (http://www.snapdrive.net/files/595417/My%20Promise%20to%20You%20-%20Less%20Complicated.wav)

I hope that you like it!! :)

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 12:00 AM
Haha yeah, good morning! :)

Ohh that is cool! I just listened to it and it sounds very nice. :D

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 12:02 AM
Have you printed out the music to that version?

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 12:06 AM
Was it the most recent image of the music posted? I don't think I did.

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 12:17 AM
Here are the images of it, again.

18113

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 12:18 AM
Do you know how to save the images so that you can print out just the images?

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 12:27 AM
If there is another way besides right click and save, then I do not know haha.

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 12:33 AM
Right clicking on the images and saving them to where you want them to be on your computer is the way to go! :)

Are you able to make any sounds on your computer tonight without waking anyone?

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 12:35 AM
All right! All saved and ready to print.

No I'm not able to, since someone is deciding to sleep next to it right now haha. :(

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 12:52 AM
What I would like for you to do, is for you to save the other images of things that I've posted that will help you to learn so that you can also print them out. Would that be okay?

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 12:55 AM
Yes that would be all right. :)

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 12:57 AM
You don't have to print out those big notes and signs, but things like the diagrams of the treble and bass staffs with the notes on them would be very helpful!

Do you have school, today (Monday)?

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 01:06 AM
Ah okay, so diagrams and the music I will print.

Yup I have school until 6pm my time. D:

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 01:08 AM
If you have school until 6:00 P.M. what time do you start school during the day, please?

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 01:13 AM
I start at 8am, but I stay until 6pm because of afterschool class.

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 01:16 AM
Okay, then it's getting very late for you, and for that matter, me. I don't want to be a problem for you being up for too long and then you having a problem with getting up. So, it would be best if we stop things here for tonight.

Let's try to start here earlier in the evening. I know that you came on earlier yesterday during the evening, but I was in the process of moving out where I was house and dog-sitting.

Okay?

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 01:20 AM
Alrighty, I'll come after I'm done with my homework tomorrow.

Have a good night :)

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 01:29 AM
I'll probably be on here shortly after 10:30 P.M. my time, which would be 8:30 P.M. your time

Goodnight to you, too! :)

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 10:12 PM
Ugh sorry for not coming on at 8:30. I went to sleep as soon as I got home and just woke up.

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 10:18 PM
That's okay! I've been having numerous connection problems tonight!

Did you print out those things that I asked you to? Also, have you studied some material that was on the sites for which I had posted the links?

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 10:31 PM
Oh I'll do that right now and no I haven't done that yet either.

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 10:37 PM
You also might want to print out things from those sites so that you can study the information without being on your computer.

I know that you will be able to play the simpler version of your song the way that it's written so far.

Are you able to make any sounds at this time without disturbing anyone?

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 11:01 PM
Okay I will print it all the site in the morning. I really want to get back to sleep.

Yes I can today.

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 11:03 PM
Okay, so it's a time right now that you can make some sounds without disturbing someone. But, you want to go back to sleep.

Is that correct?

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 11:06 PM
I'll go play the keyboard, but I'm just tired is all.

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 11:12 PM
We don't have to do anything tonight. I don't want you being on here to be the reason for you not getting enough sleep.

There will be many other nights that we can work on this. The next couple of steps that I'm going to do with you are going to take some time, like maybe a couple of hours. It would be best not to interrupt the next couple of steps.

So, my suggestion would be for you to go back to sleep for tonight.

Okay?

Shiang
Mar 30, 2009, 11:22 PM
Okay, then hopefully next time I'll get on earlier.

Goodnight. :)

Clough
Mar 30, 2009, 11:26 PM
Goodnight to you too, Shiang! :)

Clough
Mar 31, 2009, 11:03 PM
Are you there, Shiang?

Shiang
Mar 31, 2009, 11:21 PM
I am here. :)

Clough
Mar 31, 2009, 11:54 PM
Oops! I'm sorry that I didn't see your post here until now!

How are you? Have you studied some of the things that I suggested for you to study?

Thanks!

Shiang
Mar 31, 2009, 11:57 PM
Haha that's all right.

I'm very good. How are you? I have a little bit, but when trying to print some parts of the site, my printer decided to be mean and not print. D:

Clough
Apr 1, 2009, 12:05 AM
I'm glad that you're all right and I know how it goes with printers!

I'm pretty good, although I'm having some issues with one of my hips being out of place and some back pain that's related to that. I did a really big, hard paint job on the ceiling of a customer last week that took a long time where I had to bend my neck and look up at the ceiling the whole time that I was taping it off and painting.

Would you like to try to name some of the notes that I'll post that are on a treble clef?

Thanks!

Shiang
Apr 1, 2009, 12:09 AM
Yeah printers always know when I need something haha.

Oh wow. Are you going to see a doctor for that? That paint job sounds pretty tiring and painful. D: But dang paint and music? You're talented haha.

Sure. I'd love to try. :D

Clough
Apr 1, 2009, 12:18 AM
Yes, I'm going to be going to a chiropractor. It's very difficult for me to walk right now. I directed my barbershop chorus tonight for rehearsal. Usually, I stand for most of the time there. But tonight, I had to sit for the entire time.

Thanks for the compliment. I just like to do a lot of different things. I've been around awhile...

Post with notes is coming...

Clough
Apr 1, 2009, 12:32 AM
Below, is a chart of the notes on the treble clef staff. You can use it to find the notes on the staff that is below it.

18188

Please name all of the notes on the staff that is below, going from left to right without skipping any of them. If you're incorrect on some of them, that's okay.

Here is a hint. The first four notes are E, D, B and A.

18189

Shiang
Apr 1, 2009, 12:42 AM
Ah okay. Walking sticks! For assistance. :)
Aww that's no fun or maybe not? What is barbershop chorus? Reminds me of this Kpop guy, he injured his leg so he could only sing standing. While the rest of his group did that and danced.

Ohhh that's cool. I should try out more things too. :) Are you calling yourself old haha?

Okie dokie, so if the first four are E, D, B, and A, the rest are G, G, E, D, A, C, A, B, something lol, A, G, E?

Shiang
Apr 1, 2009, 12:43 AM
Ack just kidding. I forgot two of them. :(

Clough
Apr 1, 2009, 12:48 AM
Actually, you left out three. Your answers on the other ones are perfect, though! Excellent and great job, Shiang! :)

What do you suppose is the name of the highest note? The names of the notes to either side of it, going from left to right, are B and A.

Shiang
Apr 1, 2009, 12:52 AM
Oh dang. Missing three is pretty bad though. That's like uh 75% right there.

Hrmm... I do not know what that highest one is.

Shiang
Apr 1, 2009, 01:00 AM
I'm sorry. I'm getting nagged to get to sleep.
Good night. :)

Clough
Apr 1, 2009, 01:00 AM
Since the note directly to the right of it is "A", then the highest note is a "B" since it's higher than the "A". It's called a "ledger line note" because it's like it's on a "ledge" outside of the lines and spaces on the staff. A ledge can be high or low. So, ledger line notes can be above or below a staff.

Please name the seven letters of the alphabet that we use in writing music, starting with "A", and going from left to right in the order of the alphabet.

Thanks!

Clough
Apr 1, 2009, 01:01 AM
I'm sorry. I'm getting nagged to get to sleep.
Good night. :)

That's okay. We can do this another night then.

Goodnight to you, too! :)

Shiang
Apr 1, 2009, 06:16 AM
Ohh okay. I got to write that as a note too haha. :)

Hmm A, B, C, D, E, F, G?

Clough
Apr 1, 2009, 02:51 PM
You're absolutely correct, Shiang, and you're making much progress here! :)

Hopefully, we will be on at the same time tonight. I'm just checking in for now.

Thanks!

Shiang
Apr 2, 2009, 06:39 AM
All right! Haha.

I won't be here again until Tuesday, for I have a few benchmarks to study for. :(

Clough
Apr 3, 2009, 11:26 PM
Okay, I understand!

I actually haven't been on here in the last few days because I've been in the hospital for health reasons and just got back home, Friday evening.

I'm back home now, and look forward to working with you again, when you have the time!

What's a "benchmark"?

Thanks!

Shiang
Apr 6, 2009, 06:16 PM
Hope you are better. :)

A benchmark is a test that is a collection of all the class learned for a quarter. Our year is split into quarters.

Clough
Apr 6, 2009, 06:29 PM
Hi, Shiang!

I'm better, but still not as good as I could be!

Thanks!

Clough
Apr 6, 2009, 06:36 PM
Are you able to spend any time here online right now?

If not, I do understand...

Thanks!

Shiang
Apr 6, 2009, 09:22 PM
I can spend a little bit of time tonight. :)
About until 10:30pm my time.

Clough
Apr 7, 2009, 11:14 PM
Hi, Shiang!

I'm just now noticing your post here! Sorry! So, it's probably too late for you to be online here.

I hope that your benchmark test went really well! :)

Shiang
Apr 9, 2009, 03:29 PM
Haha that is okay.

Thank you, Clough! :)
