I have a Coleman propane furnace in a mobile home. Model MGHA-090ABPQ-05. When I light the pilot and close the door to the flame box, the pilot will go out. If I leave the door open, the pilot will stay lit. If you turn up the thermostat and the main flame lights, there is a strange almost blowtorch noise and the flame goes out. We have tried replacing the thermocouple but that did not help. Please help, running out of hairs to pull. Thanks.

All mobile home furnaces are designed somewhat differently that a standard homw furnace. There make up air requirements and Colemans systems especially can be a problem. I am posting a link below for you. I know these people and they only do mobile home furnaces. Post in the Coleman furnace service and repair area and they will get back with you on your problem. My best guess at this point is a defective pressure regulator that controls the gas flow but they can hopefully be more accurate.

I would check the pressure but you need a manometer propane feed should be 11-13 # feed and manifold pressure 10.5 depending on unit specs, but pilot lite can also be adjusted if its too small. Let us know Mikie D.

I sent him to mobile home repair site. Robert who runs the site is a real pro on the mobile home units since that is all they do. They also have parts which can be hard to come by for many mobile home units.
