I'm new to this site but I'm glad to be a part of it. I have a painting and I cannot figure out the artist. Beautiful oil on board and I have attached photos of the signature. I thought it might be Kathe Kollwitz but now I'm not sure. Thanks for the help.

I saved, enhanced and enlarged your images. What I'm seeing as possibilities for the last name are, Kollend, Kellonal or Kollonol? The first name might have a "V" and an "l" in it. But, other than that, it's hard to tell about the first name.

Any of those "ring a bell" for you?

I'm also interested as to how you've been involved in the arts, if you would be willing to share that, please?

Clough: Thanks for the assistance with the painting. It is excellent work so I'm sure it was done by someone with above average talent.

I have studied artwork for about 10 years and collected seriously for about six years. I am lucky to have a mentor that has studied and collected for the past 38 years.I collect oil paintings and my preference is impressionist paintings. I just acquired a William Merritt Chase that is my favorite of all.
