I have a 1995 Civic LX was over heated and melted the headgasket. I have replaced the head gasket and still didn't work run because of low compress under 70psi on a few cylinders. I have resurfaced the head and now all cylinder has 180psi. I put everything back together but the car looks like it's going to start but it wouldn't. You know when you can feel the car about the run but it didn't. The battery light on the dash about to turn off because the car is about to start but then turn back indicating the car didn't start successufuly.

I check all 3 ingredients such as COMPRESSION, FUEL & SPARK ( all 3 available ). What else can cause the car from not starting ? P.S. The batter is brand new so no doubt on the battery.

Maybe the fuel is old ? The car has been sitting there for over 6months. Can the car start without the exhaust header on ? Just a question but I did put it back on when I tried to start the car. I also purchased new spark plugs.

I'm just out of ideas.

Thanks

Have you tested the PSI on your fuel rail? Perhaps that is low. Also have you checked your timing?

No, I haven't test the PSI on the fuel rail but I removed the fuel rail with 4 injectors still on the rail and had someone cranked the car, all 4 injectors spraying mist of fuel so I guess the pressure is good ? In facts, I don't have anything to to test the pressure. What is the minimum requirement on the fuel pressure ? Yes, I did try retard and advance the timing by losing the DIZZY while have someone cranking the engine but still no luck.
