I have a dell laptop and I am getting the infamous renewing your IP address. So Si have done everyuthing that this site tells me to do but the response I get is that it cannot be refigured because my "MEDIA IS DISCONNECTED?" What in the world does that mean and how do I reconnect?

Re-booting usually solves the problem -or-

If this is a wireless connection, try:

From the cmd prompt type

net start "wireless zero configuration"

With the quotes.

Happens to me too, but I do weird things like connect via a tethered cell phone.
