View Full Version : Sealing my record?

I was convicted 6 years ago of felony possession of magic mushrooms. This is a class C felony in Washington state. Six month later I was arrested for minor operating a vehicle under the influence (.04 BAC) and possession of marijuana (misdemeanor).
Since then I have paid off all my fines, completed all community service duties and stayed away from the law. Not even so much as a traffic ticket ( well maybe a parking ticket).
I would like to someday not have to worry about background checks when applying for a job. I would also like to vacation out of the country, but am afraid to buy a ticket because I might be denied access at customs.
Any idea's?

Apply for a pardon or at the very least an expungement. I'd hire a lawyer to do that.

For a pardon, is a lawyer needed? I would need to apply at the state level, or federal?

Hello again, Feed:

State. Yes, if you want to WIN, you'll need a lawyer.

Yes, while I doubt, since there are more than one charge, part of the issue in getting it explunged, is that you have to show you have stayed out of any additional trouble.

And that will be the issue on having more than one charge.

One felony drug charge, then 6 months latter, another minor drug charge so I really doubt that it will be considered,

But yes, you will need an attorney if you want to even have a chance.
