When I upgrade flash player to version 9, IE no longer play my file. Is there any restriction in flash player 9?
This is the url of my flash file http://www.vimeco.com/images/flash/wmodebanner.swf It's the banner of my website http://www.vimeco.com

Thanks for reading my question!

It's the same with me. The flash video won't play with Flash Player 9 on either Firefox or Internet Explorer. I will check to see if Flash 9 is backwards compatible - if it isn't that's just crazy!

It should be backwards compatible. What's interesting is that other Flash movies on your site still work with Flash Player 9 - so why does just this one not work? It might be possible you have hit some kind of bug in Flash 9?

Anyway, what I would do is to download the standalone version of the Flash Player (these are called projectors). You can get them from:

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

Then add some trace statements in any actionscript you have and try and debug through your flash movie locally with the projector. Hopefully you will come across the line that is causing troubles.

Well, I'm really tired with it now. All of my flash files which are created by swishmax can not be played. Flash player 9 even does not open it, then I could not see the debug information. Anyway, maybe you see the scroll images on my site but that's not flash. It's only javascript effect

Here you go. From: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=4a8d52ae

Issue

SWF files created with Swish MAX do not play in Flash Player 9.
Solution

This is an issue with content created by Swish MAX (http://www.swishzone.com/). SWiSHZone released a new version of SWiSH Max build (http://www.swishzone.com/index.php?area=products&product=max&tab=updates) on June 29, 2006, that corrects the issue. SWiSHZone has also released new builds of other affected products (http://forums.swishzone.com/index.php?act=announce&f=44&id=15) and a tool that patches existing SWFs so you can fix your content even if you have lost the original SWI file.

It's good to me now, I have downloaded the patch and it works. What a problem. Thanks!
