Hey, there.

My Disc Drive (CD Rom drive, whatever it's called) won't open. I click the button that I normally do to open it and put a CD in, and all it does is flash a red light and not open. (truly irritating)

My friend said there should be a hole to slip in something like a paper clip to press and open it manually, but there is only one of those on my DVD drive and not the CD one (the one not working).

I also tried right clicking the CD Drive and clicking EJect. That also made it flash a red light.

Have you tried pushing the button on the drive whilst the computer is starting up (before it gets to your desktop)?? Could be a program taking control of the drive hence not allowing it to be ejected when in windows.

If that does not work and you need to get a disk out of the drive it is very easy to remove the cd rom drive and open the casing of the drive to remove the disc if there is one in it. If there is no disc in it then it would be safe to assume the drive is faulty and should be replaced.

Do not attempt to remove the cd rom if the computer is under warranty, if it is not and the drive is faulty then it can't hurt to open the drive if you have to retrieve a disc from it!

Do not do this if you are not confident as there is the slight chance you may damage other components inside the computer whilst fishing around in there.

Every CD drive I have seen (but not all DVDs) have a small pin hold below the drawer. Sticking a paperclip gently into that hole should open the door.
