I have just been to court where my child's biological father has been rewarded supervised visits for 8 hours and then he can take my child for a full day and there's nothing I can do about it. Bear in mind my child has never met this man or his family has had no correspondence birthday cards xmas cards etc no child support has ever been paid. The father is a regular drug user although passed a test of being clear for 3 months my child is 4 and a half years old . The introduction needs to be longer 8 hrs is insufficient and threats of snatching have been made but the judge would not listen . What can I do to protect my child.

First off you need to follow the court orders. If you don't it could lead to you losing custody. Did you have a lawyer with you at this hearing and did you know your options ?

You can appeal normally but willl have to follow the court orders or the man has a chance at getting more.

Did you offer any counter offers or were you fighting for NO visits and would not work out agreement.

Had you offered a couple months of supervised visits first I can't see why you would not have gotten that.

But often if you merely say no you won't accept anything, the judge has little choice but to accept what the other is offering, since the child's father does have some rights
