I have been off my pill since Nov 2007. I have not had a regular period since then. No missed periods but my cycles have been ranging from 28-44 days. I am thinking I need to see a fertility specialist to see what he thinks about trying to get pregnant with these irregular periods?? Just want to know some advice of what I should do.

Having irregular periods may just be the norm for you... happens for some women that way. Certainly can't hurt to ask your doctor about it. For determining ovulation with irregular cycles, it is often suggested to subtract 11 days from your longest cycle and 18 days from the shortest cycle. The range is when you are most likely to fertile and for ovulation to occur. It may help to watch for possible signs of your body getting ready to ovulate as another way to narrow in on the window of time you might want to focus more closely on.
