There is no way to remove a hair colour other than to use another dye over the top of it or let it grow out.
Was it the hairdressers fault or has it just faded over time?
And also what color is it? Some colors need to have a toner put through before you can use another color.

Actually, you can use color removers like ColorFix, Color Zap, Color Oops, Color Charm Color Corrrector, or Igora Phantom to remove the artificial pigment that was deposited by the hair color. However, that usually isn't a fix for what you're trying to do. In addition, color removers won't return your hair to its natural color (for sure!).

Haircolor fades. That's an unfortunate problem in coloring. What happens is that the artificial pigment deposited by the hair coloring is leached out by shampooing, etc. Usually you can "refresh" the color using a demi-permanent (a type of long-lasting semi-permanent dye).

Here are some sites, normally specializing in blondes, but also with some great information on hair coloring in general. I suggest you post there and ask questions.
