I am trying to determine the purity of the gold in an old lapel pin which is marked "Gold". There are no other markings. It is in the form of an oval wreath of laurel leaves and has what I think is a ribbon running diagonally from lower left to upper right sides. The initials H W P are inscribed on the ribbon. There is a clasp which I think is a C clasp with no catch. This could be a military piece but I do not know. Please help me determine the approximate date, country of origin and purity of the gold. Also if you know what the pin represents, I want to know that to.
