Hi, I'm hoping you can help

My mother and father happily married have lived together in a house for the past 40+. My fathers name is on the mortgage although they have both shared the costs of bills over the years. He recently passed away, without leaving a will. We have been granted a letter of administration to deal with the estate. My mother will still be staying in their home and she has been told that the name on the mortgage is allowed to be changed into her name but before we can do this a transfer of deeds needs to be drawn up.

This is where we have come stuck. I have researched on the internet for advice but am unsure as to what to do. Do we need to contact a solictors to draw up a transfer of deeds or can this be done by contacting the land registry and filling in form TR1.

Looking forward to a response, your help is very much appreciated

Since you said solictor, I would guess not in the US, in the US it goes to probate court for the judge to issue the order
