Squatter's rights are not law. Its actually almost mythical.

If you tell us your situation we may be able to advise on your legal standing.

It is very simple if someone is on your property illegal you throw them off or evict them.

But in general what is the story

Squatters' rights no longer exist. You are talking about the law of adverse possession. In Florida, in order to acquire title to property by adverse possession, the person must show that they used the property exclusively, openly and obviously, preventing others from using it, without the owner's permission, for a period of at least 7 continuous years. Also they had to pay all of the taxes for that time.
