At home we have a router which gives internet access to 2 computers. 1 PC (wired) and 1 laptop (wireless). I have now bought a new laptop and want to access the internet with this laptop via the same network. However the password to access the internet, which I thought was the correct one, does not work any more. How can I reset this password, to obtain internet access also for this laptop. (It recognises the network, when switching it on, but can not connect to it)

Can you get to the router login screen?
Reset your router to default for your manufacturer and model, then use the default username and password.
You can find it here:
Default Router Passwords - The internets most comprehensive router password database (http://www.routerpasswords.com)
Enter manufacturer, then model.

A friend of ours, but he is not available at the moment. Do I need the disk, which came with the setup for this?

No you don't but if you don't know your way around a router configuration screen(s) it could be a bit daunting. Do you have the manual for your router model?
