I am involved in the PTA at my kids' school. Our PTA is a 501(c)3 but is not affiliated with the national PTA.

We raise funds every year for another non-profit charity. Are there any legal limitations/tax implications with the amount of money we can raise for another non-profit? The amount raised continues to grow each year, with last year netting close to $10,000.

Thank you in advance for any help and guidance.

There are no limits, per se. But I would advise that you make sure that giving money to the other charity is consistent with your organization's charter - that is, that the pother organization will use the funds for a purpose that is close to your own organization's goals. There should be clear authorization from the board for this gift, recorded in board minutes. Also it should be made clear to donors to your organization that this is a focus of your group's activities.
