I was looking into joining the US Border patrol. I have a USAF BCD for larceny. I served two months in the brig. I was still able to use my VA benefits for school due to 4 years of honorable service. Will I be eligible to apply?

You can apply but I guarantee you will not be accepted nor will you pass the background check.

Hello t:

I'm still blown away that you were eligible for benefits... I don't care about your four years of honorable service, and neither does the VA. They care only about your discharge, and I never heard of benefits being paid after a BCD.

Beyond that, I don't think you're eligible to carry a gun... That would put the kaybosh on any law enforcement job.

Sorry you will not even get an interview with the Border Patrol. They have about 100 applications for any one position they have. There are people with military, police, most with college degrees ( not saying you don't have one) with great work references.
