If it's severe, give your doctor or midwife a call. If it comes and goes, on a regular basis, might be braxton hicks contractions, might be preterm labor. Get plenty to drink, use the toilet, get something to eat, change position... these things will usually cause braxton hicks contractions to subside. If not, call your doctor or midwife.
