I naturally have a medium brown hair color, but last night I decided to dye it a few shades darker and ended up with my hair practically black. Its permanent dye. I leave tomorrow for mexico so I'm wondering if I should just wait and see if the color fades in the sun and in the pool or if I should use a color remover like Color Oops. Any suggestions?

The color will fade significantly -- probably within 2 weeks. If you can live with it, that's what I would recommend. You can always use ColorFix, Color Oops, or Color Zap later.

I thought you had to use ColorFix, Color Oops, or Color Zap within a few days of coloring though? That's what I'm worried about.

No. You can't use it if you try to use bleach, first. That will over-oxidize the color, but you can use it any time -- even months months after you color.

Thanks for your response. I washed my hair several times tonight with "Dawn Plus Bleach" to try and fade the color a bit (unsuccessfully), and then conditioned my hair with the conditioner that came in my original Herbal Essences Color Me Vibrant kit, and followed up with a heavy application of L'Oreal absolut repair cream. My hair seems to be in good condition... is it still safe to use Color Oops?

Whoops, as an added note to take into consideration to what I previously said, the Dawn Plus Bleach doesn't have real bleach in it, it's an "alternative".

Yes, it's still safe to use Color Oops.
Here are some instructions for using ColorFix. Color Oops will be similar if not identical. Note that there are two sets of directions, one for partial correction and one for full correction. You'll be using partial correction, I think.
