Hi! I have two years old kid. We live in Ny and I am not sure how I can find out any information about sending him to daycare or any kind of schools for him to interact with other kids. Also I want him to learn something from there like manners. Help me with this also I don't have enough money to give it to them. Is that mean he can't go to any school without me paying his fees? Thanks

There are various programs available in NYS - if you work, some of them are free to you as a form of child care. Sometimes parents can volunteer at various day care facilities in order to cover part of the cost.

But by and large day care is a business, like a grocery store, and there are no freebies.

Have you considered organizing some sort of play group with the neighbors?

Head start has a great program for 2-3's . It's a federal based program and it is wonderful

You may find out something there though, www.ncchildcare.net but there should be one for NY.

In NY it's 3 to 5 year olds - unless it's been changed very recently.
