I found this spider in my Bedroom this morning. Does anyone know what spider it is and if it is dangerous?

OMG! I just had to comment, and I'm sorry I don't know, and sure don't want to! I think I'd be moving! Haha! Oh the dreams I'm going to have! Have you gotten it out? I sure hope someone here knows! I would get rid of that web. It may have had babies! YIKES!

I'm getting my brother in law to come and remove it. I'm not coming anywhere close t it. I think that I am the person on the planet that is the most afraid of spiders!

If I woke up and saw that, I'm sure I would have dropped dead of a heart attack! It's still freaking me out! I'm scared silly of even a small one, let alone one that size! I do know someone who has a friend that is a spider guy, and he's an expert. She's sick right now, but I will ask her to ask him what kind of spider this is. Make sure your brother inlaw looks for others! Oh, my skin is crawling now!

It looks like a Huntsman to me. Have a look at the link below...

Yuck! I can do just about anything and everything else, snakes included, but not spiders! I turn into a big baby when one of those critters comes around and sadly there tend to be a lot of them around here, including big ones like that one but I'm not sure what it is but I can try and help you figure it out. Where do you live? The area you live in might tip us off to what species it is more likely to be.

Congrats M, you're right.

It's a huntsman (also called giant crab) spider. Not dangerous, don't kill it, just leave it alone it will leave. No worries.

If you have to move it just quickly put a clear cup or bowl over it, slide a paper underneath, bring it outside and release.

Really, nothing to worry about, I have it on good authority that this spider is not harmful - I'm sitting next to an entomologist, he knows his stuff. Go to Google and check out images of "Olios sp." and "Heteropoda sp".

What part of the world do you live in? It helps with the ID (general region of the world is all that's required).
