No one lets their dogs escape. All it takes is one off day, a slightly unclosed door, maybe a gate latch not fully put down and that is all it may take. No matter what the training no dog is perfect, and with the right incentive you may end up in an emergency situation. Never assume it won't happen to you, because that is when it usually does. Even if your dog has never made a dash before, all it takes is once!

Yeah, I'm sorry, it's just a horrible thing to think about, we have all double gates at my house to prevent that very thing from happening, but I suppose a lot of people don't want to be spending half an hour just getting their car into the garage!
