Hello,

I'm losing tons of bells trying to plant a money tree. I have the golden shovel and I have buried a 30k bag and a 99k bag and neither of them have produced anything.

Do they have to be watered like the red turnips? Any ideas would be appreciated!

Found that weeks ago. Doesn't answer the question.

I'm still in hopes of finding someone who has successfully grown a money tree in City Folk.

I will pass along the information I have found on other question/answer forums and will update this thread as to their efficacy.

Must be buried with a golden shovel.

The maximum a money tree will bear is 3 - 30k bags.
**One of the guides I read said it would produce 90k bags. I'll update once I get a successful tree.**

If you plant a 30k bag, you have a 30% chance of producing a money tree.
**That explains why my 30k didn't fruit, but I planted a 99k bag and nada, too.**

One suggestion said to cut down an existing tree and bury the bags there.
**That's my next try. All to date have been fresh holes.**

Another suggestion said to water everyday.
**Can't hurt**

So you've seen this: Animal Crossing: City Folk: Money Making Guide - GamersHell.com (http://www.gamershell.com/faqs/animalcrossingcityfolkmoneymakingguide/1.10/)

Yep.

The problem with most of these guides is that they are written by people who have read reviews of other guides but who have never actually played the game and checked the reliabilty of the information.

You have to water the tree 2 times a day at the most, and you should plant very little at a time until you master having the schedule of watering them down. Also, shake trees. Who cares if a stupid bee stings you? Get a Wii mask! LOL:D
