I replaced a 4prong to a 3prong plug on my dryer tell me I did it right I put the two outside terinals to line 1 and line 2on the two outsides connections and the middle one to the neautral in the middle and then ran a wire from the body of the dryer to the cold water pipe for a ground thanks for your help ps will it hurt if the ground is not connectted to the neutral and is going to the cold pipe

NO! NOT correct.
The ground is connected to the neutral of the cord in a 3-wire dryer hook up. Connect the ground wire you ran to the center terminal in the wiring compartment, NOT to a cold water pipe.

I will not say if it is safe for one night. I can't say since I don't know what the situation is with your piping and other details.
If it were me I'd just leave it 'till tomorrow and not use the dryer until you can correct it.
It's likely a 5 minute fix.
