I have a roommate that has worn out his welcome with both myself and the landlord.I want him gone yesterday. We have lived in the house for three months (He moved in 15 days after me) And he has paid only one month rent.I live in Washington state and can't get anyone to give me some advice on how to get rid of him.Much as I would like to get a lawyer I really can't afford one. Please help. This guy has no job and constantly lies about payment.I am at the end of my wits end.Short of physically throwing him out I don't know what to do.. Any help anyone could give would be much appreciated

Is there any written agreement?

Generally, if the lease agreement has both you and the roommate on it, then neither you nor the landlord can kick only him out.

In an eviction situation, it typically has all resident names on it. Yes, you're between a rock and a hard place. Is it a one year lease?

Here's an angle that I've helped residents do before... but just so you know, the landlord does not have to do this... it's just an option that you might ask him about.

If you move out and return your keys to the landlord, then you no longer live there. He could file the eviction against only your roommate.
