02/14/09 I have a Sanyo & a Samsung 21" Color TV's. They both are still good TV's, but the RED TINT has gone out on both of them... Is this a fairly easy-fix?? I am pretty handy at most fix-its when it comes to general knowledge, & principal procedures. Please respond here, or at my e-mail at:

Hello Scott :
There could be two causes to this problem:
1- the picture tube red beam channel has a problem.
2- the electronics is faulty.
Unfortunately the cost to repair is often exhorbitant. We live in a throw-away society and electronic equipment is no longer made to be repaired, but to be replaced.
Often the cost of a repair (if possible) is higher than replacement with new equipment.
If you can afford : just replace the TV's.
If finance is a problem, wait till there is a "special" sale, or buy a second hand TV.
A couple of months ago I mentioned during a "last hole" sports meeting that I could not find a replacement for my original remote control, required to adjust recently changed cable channels. I got offers from various sides to collect free of charge perfectly working tv's that were replaced by flatscreen units.
