I have been receiving messages from my Norton Internet Security that my virus protection is out of date. When I click on "live update" the process stops with a message: "LU 1814: Live update could not retreive the update list."

I have gone to the Symantec web site and tried their solutions (two of them) and nothing has worked.

Judging from the comments I read when I Google this error code, I am not the only one with this problem.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem.

Have you tried manually downloading the Anti Virus updates, they are available HERE (http://www.symantec.com/downloads/index.jsp).

Just my 2 cents.. but when I got that problem.. and the first recommendations didn't help.. eventually had to uninstall and reinstall the program.. in my case was system works.. uninstalling just the virus program didn't work.. had to uninstall and reinstall the entire package.. it worked
