Is it legal for a bank to charge a fee for a levy or garnishment. I thought you had to turn over the fill about in the account at the time you are served.

The 100% way to find out is to call the Bank and ask under what Section of law they charged a service fee.

I know in some States employers can charge a fee in connection with a wage garnishment.

What State?

In addition to what Judy posted, you need to give us a better idea of the circumstances you're inquiring about. Did the bank sue you? Did someone else sue you and is garnishing your wages? Did someone sue you and put a lien against your property through the bank?
