All right here goes:
This is a question in regards to a special kind of case. Where to start: This is in the corrupt state of Florida. It began in 2003. That year I was put on probation which stipulations of not having any contact with anyone under the age of 18 due to a 12 yr old inhaling an air duster in my presence. It's not about that though. I made the decision to give the paternal grandmother temporary custody in which both the father and I agreed on. Then, it was the best option. Now, over the years, the grandmother has done nothing to tell them that I am their mother although I keep in contact with them- this past Christmas, my son called her- Mom and my daughter called me by my name. Screwed up I say. The question here though, is being she has had them for this long, Im considering terminating my parental rights as far this goes. I love them with all my heart and then some, but Im not sure bring ing them home would be th ebest thing for them mentally. She has already screwed them up in the head this much, what's to say they won't become even crazier if I bring them home and say Im your mother, not her, and I couldn't be with you guys because of legal crap like probation which didn't end until late 2006. Im at a standpoint. I don't know what to do and I hold my children's interest at the highest and always have. So, how do I go about terminating my parental rights or what is suggested in a case like this?
