Hi,
Iam from India, I came to USA on L1-B visa on 5-July-2008. Iam still continuing to work on L1-B visa. As I stayed less than 180 days in USA for 2008, will I be tax free?

Can I be considered as Non resident ? If I can get more tax returns compared to people who stayed more than 180 days, let me know the procedure how I can apply for tax returns.

Regards,
Ranjith

Your income is subject to SS tax, Medicare Tax and federal and state income taxes.

If you are single, you can not file resident tax return. You will file nonresident tax return. You can also claim moving expenses. Read Your U.S. Tax Return: Filing Status for Married (http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/filing-status-for-married.html)
