I have a lap top running win xp home with a 120Gb hard drive. It has 3 primary? Partitions
C,D,E
C is windows OS, D was programs and data and E is recover.
I also have a Netbook running linux which has crashed and it suggested using adevice with a CD drive to create a bootable USB recovery drive.
After using my latop and booting from the CD/DVD drive and trying to install recovery to my 4Gb USB stick (which failed), I have found upon re bootinginto Windows, that my D drive is now unallocated. I am sure the data etc is all still there, but windows cannot see the drive to do a repair of the FAT.What is the best way to recover this drive with minimum loss of data?
Any help would be much appreciated
TIA

Discovered a piece of Software called Partition Table Doctor.
It scanned the hard drives and rebuild the MBR/FAT and the drive appears to have returned to normal along with hopefully all the original data.
This may be useful to anyone else with the same or a siimilar problem
