With the crunch in the economy, my outpatient Cancer Center employer has cracked down on overtime for all staff, especially the RN's. The clinic RN's role has grown in recent months and we are all having great difficulty getting everything accomplished for patients within 40 hours. We are afraid things are being missed because we are sent home when our 40 hours in a week has been reached, whether our patient-related activities are finished. We have discussed becoming salaried amongst ourselves and believe at least we will be allowed to finish our work without worry of overtime.
