Hi There, I am experiencing some fluttering or bubbling with discomfort (not painful) but getting more and more annoying in my abdomen. To be precise it is exactly behind my lower left rib and feels like it's a couple of inches under the surface. I have been experiencing this on and off for about a year. At first it occurred rarely, just enough for me to notice the re-occurrence really, now it is happening more frequently, every day, sometimes for a good proportion of the day.

I am male, 39 years old and mainly in good health, the right weight for my height and not on any medication. I do smoke and enjoy a good drink most weeks. I suppose I am the typical man that never goes to the doctor unless it's hanging off, broken or excruciatingly painful and this problem is neither.

I would really appreciate any advice or help, if there are any doctors out there that have any clues whatsoever then please could you reply to this.

Cheers,

M.

Not a doctor, we don't diagnose but from your description sounds like gas bubbles in your intestines. So you have to examine what you are eating daily, our systems change over the years and something we really enjoyed a year ago, may not be suitable for our systems, now, a year later, whatever.

Do you have flatulence quite often? An annoying question, but necessary. Every person from time to time has this, it is a fact of life.

It sounds like something I experience occasionally. It might be what is called an ectopic heartbeat. Some people have the sensation of their heart skipping a beat. That is kind of what happens. Most of the time it is benign, meaning harmless just a quirk. It is possible that it is a symptom of a serious condition but the odds favor the benign type. I used to avoid the doctor like the plague. I KNEW they would tell me I was dying and I didn't want to know. I finally resigned myself to getting a complete physical with all the bells and whistles. When I found out I was healthy I was ecstatic. However, my best friend died 3 years ago from cancer. He had nagging symptoms for a long time before he saw a doctor. Then it was too late. He lived only 3 weeks after that. GO TO THE DOCTOR!! If not for you then for your family and friends.

I'm having the same symptems as you, which I first noticed a couple of months ago and is certainly
More noticeable in a relaxed setting, usually while sat watching t.v
Mid way down my left side just under my rib cage I get bubbling/gurgling sensation and sometimes swishing
And deffinately more evident when taking in a good volume of breath.

I have since reported these symptoms to my doctor and to date I have a fixed appointment for blood tests.
Some time has passed since you posted, how did you get on and did you find out what it was?
