Hello People, I have an 18.5HP Briggs twin cylinder Lawn Tractor of 1997 model year.
I suspect the valves maybe in need of adjustment, but I don't know what the Symptoms would be. After the engine is started it runs fine. Is there some simple way of determining this, and if so, where do I find the "Valve Adjustment Procedure"?
Thanks, Nitro-btu.

THANKS jsfocke, The video was very informative. I have the Opposed twin... Would you happen to know the setting for the valve lash, or is it the same .004"
According to the man in the video... Excessive valve lash causes difficult, or hard starting. I don't quite understand that concept, maybe you could explain it. On mine the starter tends to SLOW DOWN, or STOP at the compression cycle [TDC]. Nitro-btu.
