Hi everyone,

I have left my company few weeks ago and now I'm unemployed. I have been working in the state of PA and paid the PA taxes. However, I never registered myself as PA resident (doesn't hold license) and moving back to MA - where I am resident.

What state do I file unemployment? Since I worked in PA and paid taxes there, can I file for unemployment in PA? I don't have any documents that support my PA residency, so I'm not sure if I can claim the unemployment with PA.

Can anyone help me which state I need to do with? Thank you.

This is REALLY a legal question, NOT a tax question.

It seems to me that you would file for unemployment where you CURRENTLY live, and the local unemployment office would draw on the PA state unemployment fund to pay you.
