I was recently fired from my job for Supposed Internal Theft. I work in retail and made up false receipts and refunded them back to myself in cash. I did this 3 times around Christmas time. My husband wasn't working and I was desperate I've never done anything like this in my life and I feel awful. I have no record and it is my first offence. In total it was probably $550.00. They haven't decided to lay charges. If they did I know for sure it would be theft under $1,000 but because I falsified paperwork I assume they may file Fraud charges. What do you think the penalty could be also if I ask for a diversion. I have a 14 month old little boy I do not want to be separated from.

Of course what you need to worry about is if they decide to blame you for all missing funds during a time, the till was short >>>> so you must have done it.

So have you alrady paid them back, that will help in not pressing charges.

So you need an attorney very fast.
