Is it possible to save a chat conversation? How?

Hi, Jdwondering!

That would depend on the particular chat service that is used. With some of them, like Google Talk, they are automatically saved. There may be other services that save them too. Others who come along to address your question might know about them.

You can always copy and paste what has been typed and/or take a "picture" of what's on your screen by using a screen capture tool also.

If you might not know how to copy and paste, here's a link to a site that gives instructions on how to do that.

Copy and Paste - Learn how to Cut, Copy and Paste in seconds! - making copies, moving text, editing on the computer (http://www.webmasternow.com/copyandpaste.html)

Below, is a link to searches for free screen capture tools.

Free Screen Capture Tool - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Free+Screen+Capture+Tool)

Thanks!

Thanks Clough: I'm sorry I wasn't more specific. It's Facebook chats that I've tried to cut and paste - the pastes into MSWord are all enclosed in boxes and usually incomplete. (with Google Chat that hasn't happened though I've tried it only once.)(Actually, I'm not a very chatty person :-) It may not be possible with Facebook - not the end of the world if it isn't. Thanks again.

You can hit the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard, then open up MSPaint or similar program, then paste the capture.
