Okay, my problem is I have been watching The Secret Life of the American Teenager. I have succsessfully watched every episode since it came out without my parents knowing. The thing is the show is about a pregnant teen. I know it has good morals, but the topic of sex comes up every now and then. It is nothing I don't know, but Im not sure if my parents would approve. My parents have full trust in me about everything, I don't want to lose that trust. I was not sure if they would approve since the day the show came out. I feel guilty every time I watch it. Should I tell them? Now I know I should but I need opinions on this. The show is not dirty, it shows the consequences of things, I know if I told my parents before I wacthed it they probley would approve. But now that I have been wacthing it for a long time secretly, it would be something punishable. I don't know. Any advice?

Are you suppose to tell them all the shows you watch, if you watched law and order do you have to tell them ?

No I don't have to, but I feel so guilty wacthing it knowing they may not approve. I know this sounds weird but I really love my parents and do not want to hide anything from them.

Just tell your parents that you stumbled across an episode of it, and really thought that it could tell you a lot about future life. They shouldn't think anything less of you, just because you enjoy a particular TV programme. I'm sure there may be things that your parents watch that you don't find particularly fun.
You shouldn't have to stop watching a programme that you love, just because your parents won't like it. Tell them that you've been watching it, and really enjoy it. Tell them what its about, and maybe they'll just understand.

I love the show as well and I am pretty sure that they wouldn't mind. Because the show just shows you what things can lead up to if you make a wrogn mistake.

I told her and the second I told her the title she immediately said no, and that she does not want me to wacth it. I don't know what to do now. I know I should not watch it, but she did not even give me a chance. :(

Well I'm 15 and I loveeee this show. I don't see why your parents would disapprove though. Its not like just because you watch the show you're going to get it in your head that you should get pregnant at 15.. if anything, I think it shows girls that getting pregnant as a teenager is not a good decision, and that it can lead to a lot of problems.
