Hi, I installed a new Western Digital internal hard drive using SataII cable. When I turn on my computer, it automatically install the new hard drive. The new disk also show up on Device Manager. However, when I open My computer, the new hard drive isn't there, only my old hard drive. When I check the status of the new drive, it said "Not Initialized."
Please help, thanks.

Please help, thanks.
After physical installation, a new blank hard drive has to be partitioned into one or more partitions, then the partitions formatted into logical drives, and then the logical drives assigned a drive letter. In Windows 2000 and its successors, the Disk Management function found in the Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management applet can be used (administrator rights required). For Windows 95 and its successors (and predecessors), the FDISK and FORMAT command line commands are used. For other operating systems, see your documentation or post back.
Once the drive is initialized, I'd also suggest running an exerciser such as Hitachi Drive Fitness Test (http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/technolo/dft/dft.htm) for 72 hours before putting any data of worth on it.

Please go through these step right click on the my computer then click on the manage, select the option disk management here you can create the partitions according your need then it will show the new hard disk partitions in my computer and another way to make partition go to control panel> administrative tools>disk management here you will find your new hard drive then create the partitions
