Singing in front of a live audience as much as possible can help you get over the stagefright. I don't know what it is about a camera, but when it's sitting there and you know it's recording you, it is sometimes worse than singing in front of a live audience. Now put a live audience in there at the same time and wow, it makes it that much worse. I think the fact that the camera is making a permanent record is the reason, where the human brain can only make individual memories that can't really be relived by everyone. My advice is to practice this by getting on public accesss television, or simply having someone videotape you performing to kind of get used to it. Practice and experience is the key.

Hi, liverpool75!

Yes, singing in front of an audience more and more will help you.

What I find helps me to do this is to make sure that I've practiced what I need to sing enough so that I'm really confident with it. Also, when I perform in front of others by singing, I like to focus my attention on one thing in the room so as to lessen the possibility of any distractions to myself that might occur.

Thanks!
