Does your daughter ever talk about being overweight, chances are either way she doesn't want to be that way. But if she's not openly talking about it, it might be that she's uncomfortable talking about it. But deep down she probably does want to talk about it. You might just have to bring the subject up lightly. Also, check the foods in your house. The more unhealthy foods/drinks that are available, the more she's going to eat them. Limit going out to eat too, since those foods are usually unhealthy and fatty too. Make little changes like buying healthy foods, not so much pop (if any), going for a walk just to talk, that might get the point across and even give her an opportunity to talk about her weight. And also get out anything that she's keeping inside, a lot of overweight teens have bulit up anger and sadness inside that never gets out (either they feel alone, don't want to hurt you, don't have a chance to, or simply don't know how), and a lot of people "eat their feelings." So by letting her get her feelings out may help her a lot. Also, if/when she talks to you, just let her vent, most of the time all they need is someone to listen.
