What is the acceleration of an electron?

An electron is a charged partical. In an old tube type television, voltage is placed on two plates and the electrons are accelerated toward the screen where the hit phosphors and light up the screen. The increase in velocity of the electrons causeed by the voltage is the acceleration of the electron. The same thing happens in partical accelerators.
